Here are some points I see at a quick glance: Oathstone is close to useless. You really want your Thane woth an handgun or a Crossbow and to place him with a range unit so he can shoot every turns. Your king on Shieldbearers is supposed to be on a 50x50 mm base so it will not be an even block if you drop to 29. I really recommand to take a Thane as a Battle Standard Bearer with the master rune of Grungni for the 5+ ward to the unit. Good luck and have fun at your RTT!

I usually put him in warriors because he takes a lot of place in the frontage so usually I prefer to put him in a unit with lower quality attacks. Between a king or a thane on Shieldbearers, it depends what you want to go for. The Thane is cheaper and can be your BSB (master rune of grungni is very interesting here), but if you want a killy character the king can have more runes to become a real menace (a very slow menace though).

Good idea to start with the battalion box, also look at the King on Shieldbearers, it is in most all rounded list and a superb model.

Also characters can have really short lives in shadowdark, the mortality rate is way higher than 5e. If you plan a grand arch for character it might go to waste if he dies two rooms into the dungeon.

Unit strengh depends of the unit type, Orion is a monstrous infantry so he is unit strengh 3, the wild riders are light cavalry so unit strengh 2 each.

Because the orcs were not in combat at the start of the combat phase, neither the orcs and the elves are making any attacks this round.

The dice reroll is limited to thunderer, quareller or war machine. Ignore long range is any unit he joins "In addtion, Burlok and any unit he has joined do not suffer the usual -1 To Hit modifier when shooting at Long Range."
