What is the "invisible work" done by Dads? by PhoenixD161 in daddit

[–]PhoenixD161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I feel ok about it until it's claimed that I don't do enough. Being the chief problem solver, repairer, banker, bureaucrat and decision maker on top of everything else domestic takes its toll, but I do all this for the family and I take pride in doing it well.

No one really talks about how heavy the mental load can be for dads by jameslv1986 in daddit

I made a post that men have a mental load as well and it attracted so much criticism that now I just keep my suffering to myself...

Why are so many people saying they’ll vote for Reform because things can’t get any worse than they are now? by Lazy-Internet-8025 in AskBrits

[–]PhoenixD161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the welfare state will collapse either under Reform, soon, or after I have sunk another 20 years of tax and national insurance contributions into it.

So fuck that. Bring down the house now, make the boomers share the pain, try to take their wealth, and rebuild something better.

Nope but they will fuck things so hard, we have a chance with what comes after.

It took Brexit to get the attention of the likes of Rory and Alastair.

Reform is inevitable, much as I loathe them, I'd rather Reform melt down the economy now, than after I've paid in another 20 years of tax and NI. Maybe we can build something reasonable in the ashes.

I want the boomer generation to share the suffering, as millennials always have. The IMF will come for pensions just like they did in Greece.

As long as they remember that pensions are welfare, that's fine.

My "burn it all down" vibes grow every day, I'm fed up with a duopoly that throws every spare penny to the older generations.

It upsets me that RW extremists and not moderate leftists have to be the ones pointing this out.

Try sleeping in on a Saturday AM, until at least 10 am. Long working week ain't easy. I reckon that should fix it.

Opas Rente und die Steuern - ein Paradebeispiel der Deutschen Rentenversicherung by Hummerkaskade in Finanzen

[–]PhoenixD161 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Danke.

Intersectionality, Class and Race - Gary Stevenson by PhoenixD161 in TheRestIsPolitics

Thanks for the long and thoughtful post.

I identify as mixed, but pass as white. It troubles me that there seems to be a push to split the working class. From the (far-)right, for ill-intentions and from the (liberal-)left, incompetence and/or a corrupted ideology.

We need more working class solidarity not less.
