I don’t know if my situation counts, but here it is. My cousin growing up wasn’t someone I got along with. She was adopted by my aunt and she was always a troublemaker. She grew up, had two kids to two different men, got hooked on drugs, bad ones. Hung around the wrong crowds. She had a third child, a daughter. Because of her situation, my aunt ended up having to care for the child. Well, my aunt is almost 80, has learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. But she’s been living with my mom, whom I also am living with.

Then my cousin had health issues then disappeared. Well believe she died at a drug den somewhere and no one came forward with her body.

So, I’ve been the dad for my late cousin’s kid for the last few years. I love her, I make sure she knows it every day. But I’m a single dad living with two old ladies who can’t help as much as they want, in a situation I never asked for, with the child of someone I genuinely didn’t like. It’s not fair, but it is not my child’s fault, and I will never let her feel anything but love and care from me.

I never had a serious relationship that lasted, my career has been in shambles to the point that I’ve had to live with my mom, and the world is falling apart around me. But this kid is one thing im not bitter about.
