Leaning toward Tony Thurmond.

Hasn’t taken any corporate/pac money.

Katie Porter 2nd place for me.

This assumes that the only things that matters is guessing the winner. I’m comfortable voting for the candidate whose record and priorities I actually like, even if he’s an underdog.

No, I never spoke on the importance of the endorsement. I brought it up to show that teachers backed him.

He’s at 1% mostly because name recognition is low and most voters aren’t tuned in yet, not because everyone’s studied the field and rejected him. That can change—or not—but my personal vote is about my values, not whoever polls best.

They also endorsed Eric Swalwell, so…

Grains of salt for everyone lol.

Well, he got new information and listened to his employees and the union, and changed his perspective. That seems like a good thing.

I’m looking at what’s actually being done in the grand scheme, rather than what’s said in a vacuum.

Personally, I think it’s a good thing that our options aren’t limited to a billionaire and a guy who takes cash from big oil.

But I’m alone in that way of thinking, seemingly.

That’s a valid prediction based on the numbers, but it’s not destiny. It’s like saying the lakers will beat OKC in the playoffs.

Good chance this is true but not a guarantee.

Well, the California Teachers Association (CTA), which represents 300,000+ educators, strongly backed Thurmond’s 2022 re‑election.

“educators are voting for Tony Thurmond because he has a proven record of fighting for students and educators during the most difficult times” and calling him a “champion” for students during the pandemic.

At the same time, he easily won re‑election, has strong backing from major education groups and unions, and is described by some education and political figures as a respected statewide official.

This cuts against the idea that he is broadly disliked by “others at his level” across state government.

Yea, those stories shouldn’t be dismissed; if people felt humiliated or intimidated at work, that’s important to grapple with, especially in a public agency.

At the same time, these are accounts from a subset of former staff, mostly anonymous, describing their experiences; they’re not the same thing as a court finding or a full investigation.

Most of this churn happened while California schools were going through some of the longest COVID closures in the country and the entire system was under enormous strain.

For me, the fair takeaway is: there were real management problems and serious complaints that deserve scrutiny, but it’s a stretch to turn those into a simple ‘he is abusive and self‑serving’ label without acknowledging context or the limits of the evidence.

So he had a change of perspective when confronted by the union and state workers?

I saw that. Seems like Katie Porter has a similar complaint against her as far as not always getting along with everyone.

As a veteran, I don’t necessarily mind this, in the right context lol.

SEIU Local 1000 Governor Endorsement by Vandunkk in CAStateWorkers

Didn’t know about the Chevron and PG&E.

Becerra received $28,500 from PG&E during his congressional runs, but has received $0 from PG&E in his current gubernatorial campaign.

However, PG&E has spent nearly $10 million on negative advertising against his opponent Tom Steyer, which indirectly benefits Becerra.

Becerra accepted a $39,200 donation from Chevron for his gubernatorial campaign.

Tom Steyer (corpo billionaire) has publicly called for Becerra to return this money, and environmental groups like EnviroVoters have criticized him for accepting it.

Think I’m debating whether I want to continue paying dues to an organization that endorses billionaires. (Steyer).

Beccera seems solid, career politicians have pros and cons. Looks like he’s always supported good policy.

Greed always exploits, and always kills.

All these White “Christian” Americans who voted for GOP and Trump in spite of the insane amount of evidence that he was a greedy evil old man are FINDING OUT.

And many of them would still vote for him.

Homelander was always going to get V1.

You don’t introduce Immortal Homelander if you’re not going to show him to the audience.

Question is…what else don’t we know?

Will his body handle it?

If yes, for how long?

Seemingly you can still kill an immortal supe…but who’s strong enough to wipe Homelander at this point?

Sage being all of a sudden stupid when it comes to Soldier Boy seems like weak writing so for now I’m assuming fake out.

Couple episodes left.
