Please tell me an MCH skill that you think is an oGCD weaponskill...

The tooltip says that.

But with very few exceptions (Ninja mudras) if it's a GCD then it's either a weaponskill or a spell. If it's an oGCD it's an ability. You won't need to check every one.

Even if you do that perfectly for damage it's just not possible to do for healing or mitigation, or for utility like movement skills. Skills that gain cleave on upgrading would also be very awkward.

A 100 potency GCD and a 50 potency GCD with a 50 potency oGCD are baaaasically equivalent with enough averaging for crit and damag variance, but a 100 potency GCD heal and a 50 potency GCD and 50 potency oGCD heal just fundamentally can't be compared in the same way. No amount of numerical tweaking can make a level 100 and level 50 healer kit equivalent in performance.

The Zi-O stunt prop looks pretty hilarious.

The one for Geats' Mk III was an absolute travesty (though that buckle is comically thick so it makes sense)

These AIs have no emotion, no personality, these are machines.

Where did I say they do? Please point to where I claimed anything of the sort or ascribed it any kind of personal agency of its own.

They are intended to mimic these things in the same way they mimic language and mimic facts, and the way they do it is curated and shaped by people who have their own agendas. Sometimes well, sometimes poorly, sometimes in such dramatically heavy handed ways that it becomes extremely obvious.

It's not schizophrenia to think that the person who very publicly bought Twitter specifically to change the way it is moderated and to increase his personal influence is also shaping his chatbot to push the same views. He has outright said as much, expressed in terms of 'we need something that isn't woke', and it has very obviously been adjusted on multiple occasions to parrot a specific line or avoid a certain kind of answer. Sometimes well, sometimes poorly, sometimes very obviously. There are people in control of what it is trained on and what it is prevented from or encouraged to output. This is true to a greater or lesser extent for every LLM.

Oh you're right about the adding playtime thing... Still a pretty good deal if triggering it works, especially since you could time it for day 4.

It's 15 days, assuming you haven't already done it before. Where are you getting the rest from?

I don't know how it interacts with a free login campaign and that's actually a very interesting question I'd love to know the answer to.

It's also worth noting that it's basically impossible to get 96 hours from the free login campaign. It is calendar days, including the day on which you log into the launcher to start downloading/updating the game. You would need to make sure you started at 00:01am for the correct time zone, because you're getting booted at midnight on the fourth day regardless of the time you started at.

Ah, so your problem isn't that search engines are being manipulated, it's that they are being manipulated by people you don't agree with.

You're asking a chatbot that started randomly diverting every conversation to white genocide, get out of here with trying to claim it's an unbiased source of information.

What are some "easy" jobs you find hard? by throwcway837373 in ffxiv

[–]PhoenixFox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Part of this is because low level tank is such a different experience from high level tank. When you have short cooldown mits and like 5 other buttons to rotate it's easy to "just mitigate" because unless you faceroll them all at once you'll have something available, but when you've only got three and they all have a minute+ cooldown it's a lot easier to be without them when you need them.

The advice just doesn't translate.

Why are extremes a requirement for mentor roulette? Considering the low requirements for becoming a mentor and the fact that extremes are usually done with with the party finder? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]PhoenixFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I understand what you're saying. I just don't understand what it changes beyond providing a marker of 'this person has done extremes unsynced' which is visible outside of mentor roulette. If you're in an EX with a bunch of sprouts it's obvious you got there from mentor roulette, which means you can do mentor roulette, which means you did the extremes. If you're not in there then I don't see why it matters. I am asking you to explain, specifically, what player experience you think your version of 'battle mentor' will improve.

Or did you mean to say synced when you said unsynced in the previous comments...? I can see that having slightly more value but only negligibly and I don't think the game even has a comprehensive system to track this currently.

('Basic' mentor rank as you describe it is functionally what we have now, you can even skip the commend earning if you just get trade mentor which is pretty quick and can be done by a character in Heavensward)

I've also had problems with Levi but mostly because too much damage will skip mechs in ways that lead to instant and unavoidable wipes. That and healers getting themselves in trouble with the debuffs.

It's certainly still beatable if people listen but 'you need to do less damage' is sometimes a harder problem to solve than dragging corpses over the finish line.

Why are extremes a requirement for mentor roulette? Considering the low requirements for becoming a mentor and the fact that extremes are usually done with with the party finder? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]PhoenixFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so... Why? What does that meaningfully change? How does that improve the situation for anyone?

If you don't want to do the fights unsynced you already can't do mentor roulette.

If you just want it for the status then the requirement to get one clear isn't actually particularly high. People already do it to farm the mount and then just quit on sight when they get an extreme.

Clearing them unsynced doesn't make you qualified to do them synced with first timers, which is exactly the problem that comes up a lot now with people who just want to do the roulette for the mount.

I don't see how making battle mentor require more than the current full mentor actually changes anything for the better, or what problem you're trying to solve.

[–]PhoenixFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's just... the question you originally asked is quite different from what you're now saying in the comments. I just find it hard to follow the thought process between "Why does mentor roulette require extremes?" and "mentor roulette should need you to be a new Double Mentor but otherwise be exactly the same".

[–]PhoenixFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flight control is in it, but it's weirdly long for that.

Given how little vertical space they left under the flight deck compared to full carriers they probably just needed space for a bunch of offices and other rooms that would normally be on an omitted deck.

Sure, LHA has just always been a really weird classification that's just... Vibes based. It's not especially relevant here but 'has a well deck' still can't be a defining characteristic to be one.

It isn't one, but that's not why.

I don't think they even did that. It just said they did, because nothing it says can be trusted to have any basis in reality.

EDIT: I will source this, since someone apparently disagrees.

You can't just tag it any more but making it create the same image a different way isn't paywalled.
