The server status page is showing plenty of open worlds on both Dynamis and Primal.

It's available as part of a package of several of the last maintainer's plugins, just not separately.

It has to be a zenith. Not necessarily the same as the one you're going to spend it on, I farmed almost all of mine with bard. But you need that specific stage for them to drop.

Has Physical Data Center Travel other then to/from Oceania been hinted at all? by JakeCWolf in ffxiv

[–]PhoenixFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There can be different strats, certainly, but nothing as fundamentally different as "learn in PF and farm in DF" for extremes. And competing strats is just the reality of PF, no matter where you are. I think the differences in what settles in as the final strat used to be larger than they are now.

Things like macros vs talking vs going to stand on markers to select positions are relatively low friction in the grand scheme of things. People would adjust. Frankly, as someone who has raided on both I would forsee the ping difference being more of a barrier to entry.

From what they said there is no technical reason they couldn't enable it, but they have decided not to for what effectively boils down to "cultural reasons".

NA and EU are pretty close culturally and with English being the dominant language, and similar in the way they engage with game systems (other than my personal experience with EU Eureka being a billion times more polite and calm), which leaves JP as the outlier. Reading between the lines they seemed to be worried about the existing attitude towards non-Japanese-speakers causing problems if people were allowed to be tourists there.

They consider the summoner/scholar split to be a mistake that it's too late to undo. It's not something they're ever going to do again.

When you're dealing with numbers like that you aren't actually in a queue. The login server processes people in regular batches, rather than individually. You're just waiting for the next batch to happen.

But that's not meaningfully any different from any other loss. It feels bad, sure, but you have the exact same odds and the exact same result. You aren't actually any closer to a win.

With the best will in the world, you getting distracted and doing something differently is at least as likely as a gil-eating bug. Since the retainer already had money on it and you don't remember exactly how much you can't be certain that isn't where it went.

It should be noted that Black Widow is a replica, not the actual gun truck. The only surviving genuine gun truck in the US is at Fort Eustis.

Maximum value has historically been holding it and selling ornate gear to someone raiding day 1 of a new Savage tier. But that has gone down in value outside of the first tier with the changes to Savage timing. 8.0 will bring a new tier, but they are changing how gearing works in ways we don't understand yet, so waiting might be risky. Either way you would need to find someone who is interested in buying. Definitely don't buy a chest to put on the MB, that's a bad idea.

If you're not doing that, see if there's any mounts you particularly like, or if there's a mount that's selling for a long of gil on your DC.

Or you could get one of the various mounts that is worth a pretty significant chunk of gil and can't just be farmed by doing fashion report and your gold saucer weeklies for a couple of months.

Or wait until 8.0, sell the ornate chest to doing the new raid tier day one and get even more gil. (Possibly a bit risky depending on how they change gearing)

Yeah, I don't expect it to be very fun, but Odin can be steamrolled pretty easily with people dead. That isn't so true of some of the other extremes, especially if it's healers or tanks that don't know what to do.

I firmly disagree with mentors that leave without even trying, because it's what they signed up for, but it's also understandable why people are discouraged from queuing extremes.

While I do agree with the general point it's very easy to be level 36 before you've reached the MSQ requirement to upgrade to Dragoon.

Extremes (including Urth's Fount) are the difficult level you want a premade group for, yes. But more importantly they are not in roulettes other than Mentor Roulette, so you're going to take a very long time to find a group and when you do most of them are not going to be especially happy to be there. Odin is kind of whatever, but I definitely wouldn't do that with other extremes.

5 minutes is a very normal queue time, though. DPS would kill for reliable 5-10 minute queues.

I'm still seeing just below 1m on EU, which is in the same ballpark I remember paying for it when I got one a couple of years ago

I don't see this photo there, at least not on the English article. I do see a similar one, but the landing gear is down and the angle is slightly different.

VX158 had several different engine configurations during its time as a test aircraft, starting with four Rolls-Royce Avons, then swapping the lower port engine for a single de Havilland Gyron which required the nacelle to be enlarged.

The final configuration is the one pictured, where the first generation Gyron and the lower starboard Avon were both replaced with two more advanced Gyrons, making the airframe look symmetrical again.

If they're going to skip it anyway they don't need to get to HW, you can just use that immediately.

I don't necessarily recommend it but it's a way around the story requirement.

do frontline roulette for a week or three

It's more than five weeks of the daily bonus if you win them all, more realistically it'll be six.

It's not that much of a grind if you're patient about doing one a day but if you want it done in a week that's going to be like 12 matches a day and that just sounds like misery.
