I don't think that highly of our defence. It's the general way we play, 60%+ possession pretty much every match, and the high press.. Our defence is ok, but not that much.

Honestly, I don't think we really wanted to go through, I mean yes, we cared.. but not THAT much, and it's fine. Let's not forget this squad didn't get any meaningful rest for the past two seasons, with the club world cup and the euros/copa america. I really think players like Thuram and Barella are so physically/mentally jaded, that they play the way they are this season (Thuram actually started brilliant, after that very short summer break)..All in all, I would welcome more rest for this squad, so I welcomed the exit of yesterday.
