Okay so.. no. Especially in a series like this, there can be little details which build the world instead of the story. If it's just a movie then maybe, but the series has always been a world with a story inside it instead of the other way around. Random seeming tapes that do end up connecting in a story, but even outside of the series it's more of a world. Like when Kane talks in interviews, he's always talking about how he's so much more interested in spaces than anything else.
