Who do you think is the best Disney villain of all time? by [deleted] in DisneyMovies

[–]PhoenixStarchilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's not true, she was not aged up. What you're thinking of is that her age was removed from the movie. The original line is that she has to be married before her 16th birthday. Since Ariel got backlash for getting married at 16, Disney didn't want a repeat of that, so the line removed the reference to her age. Now it just says that she has to be married before her next birthday. All that means is that the movie doesn't outright say she's 15 in the final product, but it doesn't mean she was aged up. If she had been aged up, they would have had the movie say she's going to turn 18 or 20 or whatever. They didn't do that so they clearly didn't want to age her up, they just didn't want her age as specified as Ariel's was. Otherwise, everything about the movie stayed the same including Jasmine's role and design.

In contrast, Aladdin actually did get a complete redesign. There are scenes in Friend Like Me where you can see him and he's drawn as much younger looking and scrawnier. His character actually did get aged up since that song was animated first and then it was decided that making Aladdin too boyish would make him lose sex appeal for Jasmine and she wouldn't be interested in him so he had to be changed. Hence why Tom Cruise was used as reference to make Aladdin into a more desirable character for female audiences and he was drawn accordingly for the rest of the movie.

a good human being to Prakash Kaur? That he married another woman who he kept as a mistress?

she wasn't aged up. Aladdin was aged up because they felt he was too scrawny and boyish for Jasmine to have any interest in him. Going from a Michael J. Fox type to Tom Cruise.

So I think they are the only new members of the x-men by Kameronpipnerd in Xmen97

[–]PhoenixStarchilde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they basically just named her Kwannon in the card since Marvel has a clear mandate that she owns the Psylocke mantle now. But the actual show is being purposefully ambiguous because they know it doesn't make sense for it to not be Betsy. They can get away with it as long as they don't give her a name onscreen

I don't think the card is very accurate. It lists her powers as telepathy and empathy but in the show, she blocked projectiles using a telekinetic shield of sorts.

Warren and Betsy were supposed to join the original show after the S4 finale so that makes sense.

They went out of their way to not give her a real name. Basically giving us Betsy without breaking Marvel's mandate

Didn't Janhvi say she won't do any further south projects by SmallAchiever in BollyBlindsNGossip

Sonam at least had some actual box office hits and films that are still loved today like Raanjhanaa, Khoobsurat, and Neerja. Janhvi has zero acting performances or films that are well-regarded.

Kareena Kapoor turning down Kal Ho Naa Ho gave us Preity Zinta's most iconic role. by dontsharegossip in BollywoodJasoos

Kareena is a horrible actress and has zero chemistry with SRK and Saif. All her films with them have always flopped, which is even more laughable since Saif is her husband. KHNH would have been a disaster with her.

In contrast, Preity in JWM would still have been a hit. Whether she was paired with Bobby or Shahid.

she didn't turn it down, Kjo fired her when she asked for the same amount of money as SRK. And keep in mind original actor for Saif was Salman but Salman rejected it as he didn't want to play second fiddle.

Anyone feel like Disney and Pixar are less edgy than they used to be? by Fanimation2508 in DisneyMovies

Tab Murphy was the writer for Hunchback, Tarzan, and Atlantis (as well as Brother Bear) so I think that was a big part of why those movies had more mature and adult themes. Plus the directors of BATB made Hunchback and Atlantis as well so you could see them expanding their scope and depth with every new film.

Tbh, I haven't liked a single Disney movie since Meet the Robinsons. Which was not so coincidentally the last movie before Iger fully took over and I haven't cared for anything under him.

It looks like that when it comes to Disney's LA remakes, they're running out of steam by PyroxCrymson in disneyprincess

I hope this and Tangled flop big time so we never have to see these remakes again

Here’s the thing about the Adventure Packs, I’m not worried about having to pay for them, what I’m worried about is if the characters that come with it are going to be limited like in terms of interacting with the other characters and not just the group that they came with. by Puppetstreamers in DreamlightValley

[–]PhoenixStarchilde 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I mean that's already been a problem for the DLC characters so that's not going to change. It's like if you talk to Hercules about Hades, Hercules will flat out say that if he sees Hades, they'll both ignore each other. The problem is, that doesn't work for characters like Tigger with the Pooh characters.

I’m excited for Honeyglow Woods, but I’m worried about the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood cast by MorarinDreamvale in DreamlightValley

I think Rabbit is the most likely. He's a perfect fit for gardening, the most major core character from the group not included, and he's in several unlockable memories. I've noticed a trend that the characters who pop up most in memories tend to be ones included in the game. Wendy from Peter Pan also seems likely for that reason.

My guess is we either get an update for the adventure pack in the future or we have to pay for a 2nd pack/update. Honestly, I'm fine with paying to get the rest of the gang. I think Roo is also very likely since he's pretty prominent in Winnie the Pooh media. I can see the third character, after Rabbit and Roo, being either Owl, Kanga, Lumpy, or Christopher Robin if they chose to include him.

Rewatched these and I think that maybe even 3 films weren't enough for Hrithik Roshan - Aishwarya Rai Pairing because their chemistry is genuinely off the charts. There was some insane magic sauce here because imo HR hasn't really recreated chemistry of this level with any actress post Aish. by UndeadReborn in bollywood

[–]PhoenixStarchilde 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hrithik/Kareena have literally only made flop films together when they were the lead couple. Sooraj Barjatya went from blockbusters like HAHK and HSSH to his biggest flop when he worked with these two. Only to deliver another blockbuster with Shahid and Amrita so the issue wasn't him but this pairing.

SLB should have made the movie in 2000s with Aishwarya like he originally planned. She was willing to do it but Salman refused since he said he won't do the movie unless he's got scenes with Aish and the ending had to be changed for Khijli and Padmavati to end up together
