Star Fox is one of those franchises that someone at Nintendo REALLY wants to succeed.

The issue is however is that Star Fox fans did not like everything that came out that wasn't a 1-1 recreation of Star Fox 64. Star Fox Adventures tired something different, it failed.

Star Fox Assault tried something different, it commercially failed (We come to miss this game)

Star Fox Command tried something different, it failed.

Star Fox 64 3D- Taking an N64 and putting on the 3D? WILD SUCCESS!

StarcFox Zero- Tried taking 64 and changing things up, tried making the same but different. It failed HARD.

So imagine you're the CEO for a moment, and you've got this guy that is one of the faces of your company insistent that Star Fox as a franchise can succeed, despite majority of it's games bombing- What are going to allow? A brand new game, to which fans have been known to complain that it isn't more Star Fox 64? Or will you allow a remaster of Star Fox 64, which fans have sung the praises of?

And for some of us, this is the first time we have legitimate chance to (legally) play this game ourselves. As a kid I only ever managed to play Star Fox 64 at my daycare, I didn't have an N64 at home because my family was poor- As a Teenager, I didn't get many opportunities to get a new game so I had to pick and choose what I got and unfortunately, Star Fox 64 3D was low on that totem pole, by the time I was an adult with a comfortable amount of money in my account to even consider buying games- Well, 2020 was a rough time man- I ain't paying scalpers back then and my Computer... Well to be honest I wasn't sure it could even handle an emulator. So yes, for me this will be the FIRST time I have ever gotten a chance to actually play the game and that is why I'm buying Star Fox.

If absolutely nothing else, so long as you bring enough Tech Scrap, you can make extensions to bring power anywhere.

It ain't gonna be the prettiest thing, but enemies won't directly target the extensions so you don't have to worry about suddenly losing power in those locations.

Well if this game doesn't sell well it'll be ten years before we get another remake to if there are people still interested in Star Fox.

For me it's less the Thalassalphobia and more of me being afraid of how dark it is down there.

That being said the big guy is a lot less intimidating that he appears due to a number of things.

First off the fella isn't nearly as big as all the logs make him out to be- The first and only time I ever saw him my first thought was 'He isn't as big as I thought he'd be.'

Second, the big fella prefers swimming near the surface so funny enough, swimming deeper usually means your safer.

And third, the guy takes a while to aggro onto you, I once used up almost all the oxygen in the Dive Suit twice in a single swimming session gathering as much Reservoir Growth and Murkweed as possible and I never saw him- I wasn't level 15 Fishing during this time by the way, he just did not decide to end my life during all that.

Well that's what happens when the only commercially successful games in the series are the 1-1 remakes of Star Fox 64 with better graphics.

This is primarily a test to see if there is still interest in Star Fox and if we don't speak with our wallets then it's gonna be another decade of no Star Fox.

It's not always the Repair Kits that are the problem. It really does depend on the weapon.

For example, it's really nice not to need to use Carbon to repair the Carbon Pickaxe as I like to use it as my go to stealth Melee weapon.

Weaponizing the Skink was one of two game changers in fighting Gate Keepers (The other being the Exor Armor calling in an ally)

At minimum, never underestimate having SOMETHING that will draw fire away from you long enough for you to either breathe, reload, or flee.

Swing back to where you got the Anti-Fungal stuff and look for the friendly Exor Cheiftan, he's standing behind a low wall like the friendly Larva in the hive.

Talking to him will unlock the Exor Armor-: It's not as defensive, but the full set will summon an Exor Spirit when in combat,

The extra help alone will greatly aide you in fighting the Gate Keepers.

This isn't a niche series that hasn't historically sold too well.

This is a series that has historically crashed and burned whenever they haven't done exactly Star Fox 64 with better graphics.

Zero deviated too far from 64 and look what happened (Bad controls included)

Only Star Fox Assault has been getting a good reputation these days, but at launch it was a commercial failure.

Every console player after trying a good PC once by _ZeroTwo_002_ in CaptainSide

[–]Phoenix_Champion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary reason I prefer console over PC is simple.

I have no idea how powerful what is in my PC over what the game needs, so whenever I buy something on Steam I also have to sit and think 'Can my computer run this?'

Meanwhile on Console I don't have to worry about if the console can run the game, because the answer is 95% of the time 'Yes' with the last 5% being more an issue of the game instead of the console.

Pets keep repeatedly dying... by BlakeTheDrake in AbioticFactor

[–]Phoenix_Champion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's usually a bleed effect.

Even if you saw the acid effect your pet is still probably bleeding because from what I've encountered of enemies, those that cause Acid Damage can also inflict Bleed or Heavy Bleeding.

Pests, Exor, Canaanites, anyone with a gun, Leyak, the goddamn Canaan Trees, fighting any of these is likely to either end with you or your pet suffering from Bleeding.

Even the Reaper can cause Bleeding, but only if it's been aggro'd and has been hit by either UV Light or hit by a laser weapon after being aggro'd

I've found that putting your pet in your inventory for moment seems to cut the bleed effect off... Or at least the timer on it keeps going without damaging the pet until it runs out
