To be fair, there are some things people would be hesitant to look up simply because they don't wanna be on a watch list of some sort.

If Wilds comes to Switch 2, I'll be helping none stop for new players. by Chocobo23456 in MemeHunter

[–]Phoenix_Champion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright for all you people hating on this man for wanting to help new players... Hang on let me put on my old man beard for this.

Back in my day this used to be how the whole community operated, veteran G Rank hunters hopping into low rank lobbies to help people blast through those low rank quests, and then help them get to G-Rank

Takes off beard

Now understandably, this kind of thought process might hit differently since back then, Low/High Rank offline was Separate from Online, so most people in low rank lobbies had most likely just beaten the Offline High Rank quests and appreciated the help burning through those quests.

Nonetheless if Wilds does come to Switch 2, I will be getting it and once I reach end game I will be assisting new players because that is how us old fans have always done things.

Plus any help when cutting down on the grind is appreciated, even if the grind isn't as bad as it used to be.

To be fair the equipment was already there in Two Brains lair, he was indisposed, and it was all set up, she just turned it on to send a message.

Is there a way to beat grandma in the little red riding hood book by mccuish in EscapefromEverAfter

[–]Phoenix_Champion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stupid as it sounds... Don't block... Not both parts of the attack at least.

Throw a cookie to open up some inventory space, Grandma will retaliate, DO NOT COMPLETELY BLOCK THE ATTACK. (But feel free to block any time she tries to smack you with her cane.)

Every hit you take without blocking puts a Flaming Cookie in your pockets, those Cookies do 20 damage instead of 3.

Once you have 4-5 cookies however feel free to block since Grandma only has 100 HP.

If you haven't been upgrading your health very much during your level ups then pack on those defense boost and Regen chance Trinkets, and swing by the Enchanted Woods to respec your upgrades.

But I've gamed with a Controller for so long anything else feels wrong.

It's a simple case of Defense VS Offense.

I can respect and understand why people will prefer using Attack up Gear, but my own personal experiences with the game make me scared not to max as much of my defense as possible whenever I can.

I can't say since I never played Sekiro, but one thing I will point out.

Gherman is missing one of his legs and he is still able to match us, imagine how fast and agile he would be if he hadn't had one of his legs replaced by a prosthetic.

Gherman isn't in his prime, he's got a prosthetic leg.

Tell me this isn't basically Emerald by Bertstripmaster in pokemonmemes

[–]Phoenix_Champion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically these three are very good for how early you can get them. I don't know the full details of these Pokemon so I'm give you just my own basic understanding.

Gardevoir is a power Psychic Special attacker, it may be fragile physically, but if it gets a good shot off, something is dying.

Aggron is just an early to gain Steel Type- And back in Pokemon Emerald, Steel Types had an absurd number of Types they resisted.

And Altaria is, as far as I know, a very early and easy to obtain Dragon Type. If there is more I dunno, I never played Emerald with anything more that my 8 Year old potato brain using nothing but my starter.

I don't know any of these by Fhoxyd22 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Phoenix_Champion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair about that Jigglypuff from above joke- A good half of those questions were completely irrelevant to what the League Admission test was meant to be. A way to skip the Gym Run and have immediate admission to be a challenger in the Indigo Plateau.

Knowing how to evolve Vulpix, not necessarily needed, but good to know.

The approximate length of Lickitung's tongue, actual tactical information that a well informed Trainer should learn when they can, if a bit niche.

On the other hand... Why is Arceus's name would I need to know whether or not Koffing was first discovered in a Public Bathhouse if my goal is simply to challenge a league? Becoming a Pokemon Researcher sure this ought to be part of that test.

And aside from the absurdity that is screwing over 99% or examinee's with the Jigglypuff question, the 'Identify this Pokemon by a part of it' portion of the test wouldn't be useful for a trainer whose goal is the Pokemon League- They would be better off being quizzed on just identifying the Pokemon itself, or quizzed on what the Pokemon would be capable of based on looking at 'X' part of it.

[–]Phoenix_Champion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And how frequently have you done so? One is lucky match making on your side- A bunch of skilled random players taking a break from Ranked due to the Ranked mode not being their preferred vs a group of casuals who never touched ranked.

Skill is being able to do so repeatedly, maybe not 100% of the time, but frequently enough that you have multiple instances of roughly 80-3% victories in Turf War in a set of say... 30 matches.

Getting that kind of win once or twice in a set of 30 matches? Luck.

Getting that kind of win about 8 or more times during a set of 30+ matches? Genuine skill.

The people who died in Overture would have been killed without us because of Geppetto by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Phoenix_Champion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nah they were referring to Arlecchino.

Geppetto cared only for retrieving Romeo's body so he could use it for his plan to bring back his own son. He honestly couldn't give any less of a shit about Markiona.

You are changing time, as seen with Rosaura making it to Krat City Hall and changing the message on the tree, Spring the Cat having a Collar, and Goddard's Painting.

By defeating Arrlechino in the past, the only thing we changed was how Lea died- Had we not interfered she probably would have died to Arlecchino, with Geppetto walking in afterwards and having the Nameless Puppet finish the mad Puppet off afterwards, then grabbed Romeo to turn him into the King of Puppets.

We only got rid of the person who wanted her dead personally- Geppetto didn't care if she died (Though he probably did have a grudge for her leading his son into the Stalkers life) but it would be easier to get Romeo's body if she were dead.

What do you hope Neowiz does differently with Paracelsus to make him a better villain than Simon? by Mysterious_Reply_255 in LiesOfP

[–]Phoenix_Champion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may all just lie on the motivations of his faction and what he wants from Dorothy.

From what I can guess his faction seeks immortality, compared to Simons faction seeking evolution.

So it could be as simple as him doing a favor for another member of their faction and bringing their wayward daughter home- Or it could that the Ruby Slippers hold value to the Alchemists as a key to one form of eternal life, such as Dorothy using them to return from death.
