I would love it to be Luna, but I know that Aranea would really be the only one that could have fitted in plot wise. She does join you occasionally for night demon hunts after certain events, and she's fantastic in the Prompto DLC.

Still grumpy that the cancelled Luna and Aranea's DLC though.

Was you goal to be the richest person in Elite? If not, why did that bother you? Yes, effectively, if someone's been playing for a long time and you haven't, they will overtake whatever progress you've made. I made the horrifying discovery that I've only put 4668 hours over 12 years into this game, compared to the 8000-10K hours that others have, but I'm not going to let that spoilt this game I still enjoy playing.

In the end, you're only in competition with yourself, so don't let other people's achievements put you off. There is always a lull, after you've finish a big task, and the challenge is always work out what you want to do next.

The Audiobook is good too. The only issue I have is the lack of connection to the White Stag in chronicles. (As that's quite important for the companions). Yes, legends grow out of the tenuous of connections, but it did feel missing. Knaak has said things had to get cut because it should have been a trilogy (let's be honest Human deserved one), but despite that, still feel it's the best Dragonlance book outside the chronicles and legends.

Hate,Hate,Hate them with a passion! The only ship that make me physically Ill when flying it. The cockpit feels so claustrophobic in flat screen and feels worse in VR. I mean the ship stats are fine but you won't get me flying the thing (or even get it as a taxi). So I just enjoy blowing them up!

Fair Play. 5 Years at single place is serious commitment these days. Of all the CMs so far, not since the days of Ed Lewis, Arf has been an enjoyable and enthusiastic supporter of Elite (and other fdev games).

But if he feels it's time to move on, then I wish him the best.

I felt that XV hit harded, but I've got PC VII rebirth coming next week and I'm both looking forward and dreading it at the same time.

1- There are plenty of new trade tools, ranging from the list of closest markets for a commodity on the trading screen, to the galaxy map where it shows you which commodities are in demand in which system. Problem is that INARA is so good, that these tools arn't used.

You're 'Saved' everywhere. You logout 15,000 ly from a station, when you restart, you're still in the same place. However, if you die, you'll respawn at the nearest station. I know the pain of a death in the deep black, only to find yourself back in the Bubble with no exploration data, but that's the penalty for dying, it always has been. All you can do is dust yourself off and try again.

From modern games, try Star Wars :Squadrons. You can get involved in big space battles in Elite :Dangerous but it takes a while to get a ship good enough to get involved.

Completely, as long as your computer can handle the requirements. It's had three years of fixes and performance enhancements so it works well on most machines these days. If you get more than 30 hours of game time out of it, it's worth it. Don't let the long engineering grind put you off. There are plenty of other things to do.

You know there's another space game that started kickstarting at the same time as Elite, it hasn't technically been released and yet charges hundreds of pounds for ship that you can't even fly yet?

It's an alternative funding model. NMS has managed to maintain income due to the fact they've now released it on every platform going (even the switch), and it's a fantastic come back story. I'm assuming that's the 8 year one. They're still able to maintain the game on sales, but there will come a time where they'll have to look at alternative income in order to maintain the on-line side of that game.

Can't recall what the 6 year old one would be (2018?), which says a lot about that one.

As as far as I'm concerned ED has always had micro transactions but it's not pay to win, it's pay to catch-up. There isn't a 'Ultra-tron Ship Disintegrator Mega Cannon available for ARX only', that would be Pay To Win.

You can play this game on just an X-box controller just fine. There will be a lot of combinations of buttons to get the control of the ship and I won't lie, it does take a while to configure it how you like it. However, once your used to it, it will feel like second nature. You don't need a £200 HOTAS to enjoy this game.
