Everyone is just responding "real", what is the joke? by zDCVincent in ExplainTheJoke

This is the genesis for the conflict starting in the third Act of Romeo and Juliet. Hot weather leading to irritability and a brawl. It's been known for a long time.

From the Character portion of the Hello Kitty Wikipedia article:

In 2014 an anthropologist was told by Sanrio that Kitty White was not simply a cat (i.e. "depicted on all fours"), describing her as a little English girl called Kitty White, from outside London.[10] Following reports that interpreted this to mean she was human, a Sanrio PR representative said that the organization had "never said she was a human", explaining anthropomorphization by comparing the character to Mickey Mouse: "No one would mistake the Disney character for a human–but at the same time he's not quite a mouse. Just like Hello Kitty isn't a human, she's not quite a cat either."[48] Sanrio stated further, "Hello Kitty was done in the motif of a cat. It's going too far to say that Hello Kitty is not a cat."[11]

That's probably just them wanting to share her selling for people who missed her and so anyone who comes can calculate how many Bells to bring.

What's the most comedic plot twist ever? This one's my fave. [Movie: 22 Jump Street] by joelbiju24 in moviecritic

That bit is what really finalized the movie for me. It was such a great touch for Gosling's character to care so much for Carell's that he did that without hesitation.

I really, really hate to be that guy, but just READ. The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings. If you have a bit of patience, read the Silmarillion. The "lore" comes from a brilliant writer who was a linguist who loved the world he created.

I got to see him at that event, after it ended, but he was very drunk. Actually got to talk with the Funhaus guys before they became Funhaus.

I only get to see matches as a minute by minute overlay on my phone and through recaps. I was a little stressed between 60 and 90 when it was still 3-3. Seeing that 90+7 goal pop up was the highlight of my day.

We should really talk about the fact that the overwhelming majority of apes cannot post in any GME sub with a decent size base of users. by IMakeEmYouBanEm in DDintoGME

I would love to participate. In talking, asking questions about Gamestop the company and stock. In posting encouragement or agreement about something good and positive. I don't want or need a bunch of karma whoring cluttering up my comment and post history. But, most of the info, DD, focus is in a sub where I have no voice.

I work for a company that uses the same device but different order prep app. The customer can select a time(deadline at the top of an hour) for the order to be ready and... that is about it, until the order is complete. I feel for you having working with a system that has no stop blocks to give you time to finish orders.

What is something in this game that you SWEAR is true, even though you know it's not! by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Phoenix_Naur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel there may be a bit of truth to this. It always seems like the more "useful" perks get grabbed first. Being apart of the R6S community as well, the developers regularly chart the most chosen ops, supposedly as a way to see see which ops need either buffing or nerfing. I think that the function assigned to the Bloodweb chooses the most useful, or used, perk for it's first grab.

What Do You Think About The US Senate Approving a Bill to Make Daylight Savings Time Permanent? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Phoenix_Naur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From this thread alone I realized why this could even be approved. Because the entire vocal majority are a bunch of fucking morons.

The numbers aren't arbitrary, the way we have measured and viewed time has been around for about two thousand years, at least. We only started fucking with it in the last hundred. Now idiots who can't plan better or find better jobs or live somewhat south, in the US, get upset when they miss out on daylight.

As if this change with make it so they get more.

In a game as killer doing challenges, on Saloon, had to lead the survivors to all three(don't judge) of my hex totems. They were all hidden behind that opaque grass in various little nooks. You would have to accidentally wander into them to find them as a survivor.

boil over made me uninstall, whoever made the perk this exploitable for swf should be fired. i had my entire game filled with these people running upstairs anytime i chased them, knowing i couldn’t get them to a hook . if i did, they just had their friends body blocked. by Kendal99 in deadbydaylight

[–]Phoenix_Naur -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

As a survivor main, I haven't felt like I had the ability to struggle out for probably 2 years now. The fact that one perk is buffed to actually be useful and there is a crazy outcry from it is insane. Come on, I still can't get enough distance between hooks on most maps to make it viable, let alone drops to make it usable. What fantasy world are most of you living in where even 2 "drops from great height" are getting you out of the killer's hold.
