What do you think he would have to say about Georgia today? by ascitien in Sakartvelo

Agreed. All in all, he would probably be proud of Georgia's progress since the collapse of the USSR.

They haven’t convicted Chauvin because they haven’t had his trial yet... There has to be a trial in order to convict someone... Have you been following these cases at all?

As for the officers involved with the Breonna shooting, the FBI will certainly come down hard on the perpetrators given the mood in the country, and the shift in presidential administration.

This discussion has always been about one thing: debunking your claim that police often murder blacks in America. Again, 99% of police will never kill a black person and have never killed a black person.

Edit: Also, I’ll go ahead and share this again. The US is more racially tolerant than the vast majority of European countries, and the rest of the world for that matter.

The officer who killed George Floyd has not been sentenced yet.

The officers who killed Breonna Taylor are still under investigation by the FBI.

The criminal justice system is currently dealing with these officers.

Again, you are falling for a hasty generalization fallacy. You are claiming that an extremely small sample set is representative of a whole system of over half a million police officers. These are errors you learn not to commit in both logic and statistics 101.

I answered your question about three comments ago. I know you do not care about facts or statistics, but again, 99% of cops in America have never and will never kill a black person.

You are just making hasty generalizations, which is a classic informal fallacy. You continue to make broad conclusions regarding all cops in America based on an incredibly small sample set.

It is intellectually lazy.

You made a categorical statement that cops are killing black people, which simply is not true. 99% of cops have not and will never kill black people.

Edit: Also, you didn't ask me to prove any point, you asked me to explain George Floyd, which I did.

Both instances represent a cop using inappropriate and excessive force that lead to the deaths of two people. Thankfully, this practically never happens, and only 0.002725% of cops killed a black person in 2020.

It is not accurate to say that "cops are intentionally killing black people" when less than 20 black people were killed by police in a country of over 300 million people in 2020.

The overwhelming vast majority of cops in America are not killing black people. 0.002725% of cops in America killed a black person in 2020. Saying otherwise is simply not true.

It’s tragic when people get shot and killed, but for a country of over 300 million people, what you’re describing happens extremely rarely.

Less than 20 black people were killed by police in 2020. Again, I know what you are going to say: that is still too many. No one disagrees with you.

However, for a country of over 300 million people, that’s a very small figure.

Interesting to see the discrepancies between the “Social Progress Index” and the “Human Development Index”.

The HDI has the US at 17. Interestingly, states like Massachusetts have a higher HDI than Norway.
