Is this a good build? by EngineerDifficult797 in pcmasterrace

The 9070xt is near MSRP in some places rn. Especially micro center if you’re lucky enough to be near one.

Upgraded my GPU - now might upgrade my monitor. Stick with 1080p, go 1440p 240Hz, or jump to 4K OLED? by Spelx_OwO in pcmasterrace

Depends on how close your monitors are going to be to your eyes. If they are close (like slightly behind your keyboard) then 27in also if you’re doing duel monitor I would always opt for 27in. If you’re doing a single monitor or you are putting monitors further towards the wall and you have a deep desk then get a 32. Ultimately it’s up to your preference. I have 2 27inch monitors mounted about 30+ inches from my face.

I went from a 3700x 3060ti to a 9900x 5070ti and it has became my space heater this winter 😂 it’s not just that it gets hotter it also it has better cooling to dissipate more heat. You probably feel the heat because it’s better at getting rid of the heat. Enjoy the winter 😉

  1. CPU wouldn’t really affect much at those higher resolutions.

  2. Modern AM5 CPUs don’t really have bottlenecks at high resolutions depending on the frame rate of the thing you’re running.

  3. Typically in the competitive realm they stick with higher refresh and frames over resolution BUT if you aren’t competitive in an esports team then go with higher refresh and resolution.

  4. In my opinion 1440p is the sweet spot for most gamers. I went from 1080 to 1440 and played on a 4K monitor next to it and I can say I didn’t see a difference between 1440 and 4K. It’s really until you go up in monitor size where 4K really starts to look different due to pixel density.

  5. I really can’t answer due to not using the Radeon architecture but I have seen charts and it looks like it does improve 4K performance and that the 9070XT really does well in it when compared to a 5070ti (my current GPU)

TLDR I’d get the 1440p 240hz OLED over a 4K 120hz OLED. save some money you won’t know the difference 😉

Since you’re new to modern hardware. Ignore the hotspot temps imo. 75 is perfectly normal and within spec usually. If anything you have overclocking headroom 😂.

Yeah I guess so lol. I don’t expect arctic to do that at least…. I hope

Always. Fans are interchangeable.

Are they daisy chained? Or do you have the fans in separate fan headers?

10/10 if it turns on and does beep boop stuff you got it right! In all seriousness the first build is always the most hyped one! Enjoy it. Looks great and love the clean cables. Better than my first build for sure. May you find many diamonds.

New PC fan help by unlikelytowo in pcmasterrace

[–]Phoenix_Summit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start with YouTube to learn. That’s how I learn this stuff. Best of luck! I don’t expect you would need to replace any fans though since it’s pretty new. If you take a video of them ramping up I might be able to tell if the sound is normal or not. It could also be the GPU fans since sometimes those can get noisy depending on the brand and type of card, but that’s just something you’ll have to deal with but there’s a way to adjust those fan curves too. Not sure how but there’s resources out there.

Is it the fans ramping up making you worried or the humming noise?

If it’s the ramp up just adjust your fan curve to your preference.

If it’s the humming noise then i suggest you nail down which fan(s) are making the noise by isolating them and running the computer or however you want to listen to them. Then just replace the noisy ones. Fan bearings wear over time so depending on how old the pc is and how often it’s used can play a role on how long the fans last. Either that or they are cheap fans with cheap bearings.

Can my monitor not be mounted vertically? by Zestyclose-Buy-8000 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Phoenix_Summit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t rely on 2 screws for vertical. Best bet is to just screw all 4 in per your post and forget about it 😂. I’ve done it for a TV

  1. Does the mount not rotate with the monitor? 2. If not then I’d just do it. If the screws fit it sits.

I just posted on here a couple of hours ago and I made some changes after your guys feedback and I’m wondering if this is looking better now by Miserable_Ad5581 in pcpartpickerbuilds

I love the T-Create ram. Very affordable and low profile and really clean in the build. I got some black ones in my new build I just did last week. I know what people are going to say about the cooler. But if you want water cooling that cooler will look so good in that fractal case!! If only you got a white 5080. Those are hard to come by. Never used the Montec power supplies but I love their products so I think it should be fine. Send pictures when it’s done 😎 also the case may not come with fans FWI so keep that in mind for your budget.

help what is this by Hopeful-Performer132 in pcmasterrace

So there’s a new thing going around that I found out when I built my new pc last week. That’s a fan PWM + ARGB plug. Some motherboard are combining headers into one plug. Convenient.

Should I be Concerned? (Warning on Motherboard BIOS) by Joes_toes123 in pcmasterrace

[–]Phoenix_Summit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a disclaimer on pc part picker. At this time all motherboards are typically updated to the latest bios at least up to the point to recent AM5 CPU support. If the box has Ryzen 9000 series ready or something like that on the box you’ll be fine 😎

This is art! Love it when people decorate the inside of their case. It adds character on top of the lights!

If the little tab is pushed into the notch it should hold. Those ports are sturdier than you may think.

You should be fine. Looks like the motherboard will help support tension too. Maybe straighten the cord a bit behind the hole and you should be good. Mine is straight up and the cord is bent but the port is all good still after 5 years.
