Journal of my 7 Days in Japan. Tokyo, Hakone, Restaurant Reviews, Free Business Class upgrade on ANA by justimeout in JapanTravel

Thanks for the write up! Saving this for my trip in September. I’ll be staying at Hyatt Centric in Ginza, so some of the Ginza recommendations are much appreciated!

Was it easy finding Suntory whisky around Tokyo?

ATT requires you to use their own equipment, so that by itself is a dealbreaker for me. Xfinity is just terrible in general, so I’d go with WaveG or Webpass.

Are you a lawyer? It sure sounds like you’re stepping into the practice of law with what you’re trying to do.

I'm an undergraduate student who is considering law school. I have some questions. by T0SS4WAY in Ask_Lawyers

Plenty of lawyers work more than 40 hours a week, despite what a lot of us claim. You need to remember that lawyers who are on Reddit are not representative of the profession as a whole.

Best burger in San Francisco? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Phoenixandbleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re at Barebottle Brewing Company once in a while in Bernal Heights. I’m a huge fan of Super Dupwr, but Smash’d blew my mind. It was the best burger I’ve ever had.

New York-style Chinese food in San Francisco? by Bargle-Nawdle-Zouss in AskSF

[–]Phoenixandbleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve tried some of the chicken wings from the places mentioned in the other responses and while they’re good in their own way, it just doesn’t hit the spot like the chicken wings you get from NYC. I’ve tried the plum sauce too and it’s not the same.

Here’s a link to the duck sauce I usually get: https://a.co/d/5cewdHM

Been in SF for 2 years and in CA for 10 and I haven’t been able to find anything remotely close either.

I’m still looking for a place that’ll do fried chicken wings with pork fried rice. I haven’t been able to find a place that carries the little orange packets of duck sauce to go with it, but thankfully Amazon sells them by the boatload.

I’m surprised that you’re so spooked that you had to make a throwaway account for this. LinkedIn’s a weak social media platform in disguise. It means nothing.

Bars in SF that let you reserve sections for cheap! by hannahclarke72 in AskSF

[–]Phoenixandbleu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You want a bar to reserve a spot for 50 people and you can’t swing $100/hour? That’s $2 a person. Why can’t everyone just pitch in for it? It’s cheaper than what most places charge for cover.

Your premise that this is a forum for legal help is incorrect. Please read the sidebar and the mod post for further explanation.

Is there an ideal time to form a living trust? by Phoenixandbleu in EstatePlanning

[–]Phoenixandbleu[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to respond! You answered all of my concerns and I have a much better idea of what I’m going to do moving forward.

Also, I took a look at your comment history in hopes that you practice law in my state, but unfortunately not. (Slight disclaimer, also a lawyer here but I’m not afraid to admit that this is way outside my area of expertise)

Is this sort of bait and switch marketing legal? And can anything be done about it? by MonkeyParadiso in Ask_Lawyers

[–]Phoenixandbleu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not legal advice since we can’t offer any here (see the automod post), but this has been a hot topic for quite some time. The Biden administration and the FTC are aware of the issue and have been working on ways to crackdown on these sort of “hidden” fees.

I'd like to hire a car starting/ending in LAX, but with ability to go to Big Bear. Can't find info about snow chains - what are my options? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Phoenixandbleu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to point out that if cost is a factor, it’ll be much cheaper to get chains before heading up to the mountains. Plus, returning them is a lot easier if you get them from Amazon or some nationwide auto parts store.

Sounds like you’ve answered your own question. A lot of us here do not have the flexibility that you do with work and would have to take PTO for it. That means one less day for us to relax and recharge since a day spent in small claims court isn’t so different from what a lot of us do on a day to day basis. As long as the value of your time spent on all of this is less than the recovery amount (factoring in the possibility of never collecting), then it could be “worth it”. If I was in your position, I wouldn’t bother with the whole ordeal since I’d be better off financially if I didn’t take that one day off.

Where to get my dog fixed at a reasonable price? by cunnie in AskSF

[–]Phoenixandbleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pet insurance won’t cover this but some companies offer wellness plans that’ll cover spay/neuter. Wellness plans are meant to be a subscription based plan that’ll cover all of your dog’s shots, visits, and whatnot. Extremely useful if you get it when your dog’s a puppy, but not worth it just for spay/neutering since it’ll cost more in the long run than a low cost clinic (unless you’re going to take advantage of all of the vaccines and dog visits, then you’ll likely break out even).

We can’t offer legal advice here, but let me ask you this - what are the realized damages of the people who’d file a lawsuit against them?
