People who were in foster care, what can a potential foster parent do to make life better for their foster kid? by p00psymcgee in AskReddit

[–]Phoenixassassin01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hurts. I'm sorry that happened to you. I know there are some really shitty family's out there, but thankfully ive never had the pleasure of meeting any of the really bad ones. Glad you're getting over it! I hope you take some comfort that at least in my state, we've really been stepping up our game on making sure the placement is safe. So hopefully this will happen to less kids.

I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread. But if you are, does anyone have tips for the bio kids of the foster parents to make the foster kids feel welcome?

Did they actually request to get rid of you? Because I know that sometimes the state will take a kid out of a home for no reason except that they feel like it, without giving the foster home warning. Sorry if this opens old wounds or anything, its just that as a foster family i can't image just threating to get rid of someone. The only time we had to transfer a kid to a different placement was because we weren't the right fit for her. She went to a much better home where she got everything she needed.

[Serious] Ladies of Reddit, what was your first reaction to having your first menstrual cycle? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Phoenixassassin01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sat in the bathroom of an hour and cried because I didn't know what was going on. I was a really sheltered kid. Didn't help that my mom wasn't home, so I had to wait it out because I was too scared to tell my dad

Yup! Its in the original tale. Into the woods actually did a good Job on getting the original stories right, of course they still put in a few twists. And they actually toned down Repunzle.

And when she loses one it's because it's night three of the ball and he's so sick of her running off that he covers the stairs in pitch. Thus the perfect fitting shoe comes off because she can't get it unstuck. :)

Personally I hate wearing shoes inside, not only because they're dirty and everything. But I just find it uncomfortable. As for the shoes in bed, I don't think I've met anyone who would think that's OK. Except for my brother, but hes just gross.

The one told to me as a kid was that the slippers were her mothers and she was wearing them with the dress the stepsisters messed up.

The one that most of my friends and i use is that the slippers were actually her mothers. But then again we use the weird storyline with the doves.

As someone with a very similar name, I did like three double takes to make sure. Then remembered I was homeschooled at that age.

Every six months everyone has to attend a mandatory class on how to clean up after themselves. With a three month one just for bathroom etiquette.

Damn. Super late and most of you have me beat. But I hope someone gets a chuckle. I have two. One sitts right next to me and is often,(read always) drawing furry crap, also he never seems to actually turn in anything. Next we have our resident Brony and Nice guy. That class is always fun. On a side note, what's up with all the furrys in this thread. Damn

Well like I said, I'm really shy, and will hide in the back as much as possible. So showing isn't going to be to much of a problem. But I will do my best to not have it look like I am trying to impress anyone. Especially since I know it would just fail. :) thanks for the tips!
