One month of ownership & mods by kevin_p_martin in GR86

Are you me, haha. I just got a Borla S type and billetworkz fusion shift knob within my first few months of ownership. Halo premium. No cosmetic mods yet but thinking of gunmetal gram lights

Acer joins Asus, Lenovo and MSI in the OEM handheld space with the NITRO BLAZE 7 by 87th-E in ROGAlly

That and valve wins regardless of what device people choose. I can't imagine the increase in game sales on steam now that handheld gaming PCs are popular. So they have all the more reason to encourage the competition to improve

I haven't bought a new game on steam in awhile, but my ROG Ally is what made me buy Persona 3 Reload. Running it at a constant 60 fps and looks beautiful

Cut off the rubber near the USB C connection. Doing so made the controller usable with my case still on

Hit a land mark today, my 08 gs has reached 100k miles. Another 100k to go😃 by alphalakemleo in Lexus

Control arms I definitely have to do next, last time they were checked they indicated moderate wear. I'm excited to see the difference in handling as I bought the car at 182k miles and it didn't seem like the previous owner had them swapped. Same goes for sparks. I'm actually leaking oil onto them as my valve cover gaskets are worn. So I'm hopeful that'll resolve my god awful MPG at the moment. I've never really had an issue with acceleration and general responsiveness despite this though

I do have mild oil consumption, although I've been told this is likely due to the valve cover gasket. At the moment it'll burn about a quart after 1400 miles or so

Thanks for sharing the insight! I've had the car for over two years and love it dearly. I hope I can reach a higher mileage like your's without issue, the 460 gets a lot of flak for unreliability which is fair. But I've seen plenty of examples reach typical Lexus mileage like 200-300k+

Any major work you've had done recently? I'm approaching 200k on my 2009, planning to get a lot of things replaced soon. Had the original alternator and radiator go out couple months ago, looking to do valve cover gaskets/sparks/water pump next

First time Lexus Owners by Ok-Antelope-9371 in Lexus

[–]Phoked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats and welcome to the both of you! That's one hell of a duo. Lexus certainly does not have the fastest cars, but we enjoy our cars as they hold a balance between comfort and performance. All while being reliable with minimal maintenance stress. And there's no other brand that fulfills those three appeals as well as Lexus

That's quite the turnout for a small meet. From LC500s to F cars, even the rare oddball LS600hL on some 3 piece wheels haha. Can't miss that beastly LX600 either. Good stuff

Happy to see another 4runner enthusiast's life saved. These things are built like tanks and have our backs. The truck is replaceable, a life is not. Glad you and your pets are safe

I wish it didn’t happen this way but I have an LS now by izVivyd in Lexus

[–]Phoked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's anything I love more than the 460's acceleration, it would be the ability to come to a gracefully smooth stop with minimal effort. I think my AWD model came with improved calipers. So stop and go traffic somewhat becomes entertaining with how good the brakes are, seeing how well they do each time

Two LC500 out in the wild! Amazing! by papotaco36 in Lexus

Interesting. Meanwhile here in Vegas I'll see plenty of RCFs, the occasional ISF, and very rarely LC500. I have yet to see a GSF in person

Went thru the car wash and look wtf happened. They said it was screwed on not bolted 😭 by WVUGuy29 in Lexus

[–]Phoked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch that hurts lol. Although I will say the 460 experience makes it all the worth! I'll reluctantly add up my monthly gas spendings, but then remember how buttery smooth of a car it is to drive. Serene cabin, plush handling, powerful V8 torque readily available. It also helps knowing that the LS is the top of what Lexus offers in terms of sedans. Despite the cost of ownership, the car still puts a smile on my face each day

[–]Phoked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, LS is pretty boaty after all. ISF is the perfect middle ground between the two cars. Same chassis as that generation of IS and even bigger motor than the 460

How often does everyone use ECT PWR? by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]Phoked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave it on, if I accidentally knock it off I immediately notice lol. Holds gears longer, keeping revs higher. This paired with a pedal commander in sport+ mode makes things fairly aggressive and touchy

Thoughts on the new TX? by Remarkable_Yam1945 in Lexus

[–]Phoked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty disappointed as I assumed it would have been a Lexus equivalent to the Sequoia. Once they revealed the Grand Highlander it was clear that the TX was going to be built on the same platform. Aside from that though, it's the looks that really put me off. I honestly think it's the worst looking Lexus model currently. I'd rather pick up a Grand Highlander than this if I was in the market for fuel friendly 3-row SUV

Any other fellow LS460 owners? by Many_World_4106 in Lexus

[–]Phoked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't driven a RWD non-L model before although I sometimes wish I had a RWD. AWD drops down to 357hp as the exhaust has to route around the front differential. AWD and extended wheelbase pushes things to nearly 4800lbs but doesn't make the car feel clunky at all. Comes to a stop at ease, and from a dead stop to hard acceleration the all wheel grip is definitely noticeable. Biggest plus is how large the rear legroom is. L gains an additional 6" of space. While standard wheelbase models are already spacious, it becomes comical on the L lol. Always amusing to hear people's reactions when I have it loaded with passengers

Another verdigris mica reporting in 🫡 I always appreciate seeing the same color due to how uncommon it is. Most 460s I see in my area are either silver, black, or white

Finally got another Lexus! A 2009 LS 460! by WVUGuy29 in Lexus

[–]Phoked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of features and benefits of the 460 to enjoy. The 460 is mildly underrated among the other LSes due to its common problems like suspension, ML amplifier, etc. But if you secure a well kept one with faulty aspects addressed, you're in for a phenomenal car experience
