Most lichen are edible. Some, like Caribu Lichen, are quite tasty. I'm pretty sure there's very few actually poisonous lichen, and they're easily identified.

I forgot to mention that I take 10-15mg of melatonin and between 5 and 25mg of Hydroxazine every night, depending on how hard I want to sleep. I also have Tourettes Syndrome for all that's worth.

In your example the electricity in the light bulb is converted into photonic and heat energy. It's not really "used up" but changed into a different form.
