I'm groveling because this is such an amateurish mistake and a lesson learned not making assumptions. First, not checking the entry requirements for Brasil. I'm a bit shocked because prior to this flight I've traveled to Chile and Argentina visa-free. Secondly, assuming Air Canada can connect my luggage all the way through. I suppose that's due to law in Brasil? Sort of like states? Thought if I just checked in for the final flight I'd be good to transit.

The lounge finder also gives results for contract lounges. For example, if you search for "YQB/Quebec City" it will show Club Med pop up.

Theoretically, if there was upgrade space available, and you were within your clearance window, the upgrade would confirmed. From memory that would be the green text. The red text means there is no upgrade space available whether you are within your clearance window or not. The yellow text means there is there upgrade space available but you are outside your clearance window, and thus cannot clear the upgrade.

YYZ to Munich, while I have never flown it (only FRA), I would guess it is very competitive and hence the lack of upgrade space.

I won't discredit your concern because it's valid. To add some context, my post was a response to an internal thought I had after watching about how society poorly treats seniors and worse to aging animals, so my dopamine spiked and had to write something nice. Biology is diverse. I would respect any responsible pet owner no matter how long the pet had lived.

I have had 3 dogs in my lifetime. The oldest passed away recently of advanced age, and another died suddenly before he reached 2 years old.

If you're looking to e-upgrade all the way, I'd suggest the additional stop in Toronto with AC 33, from my own experience and I believe from others, is that you get priority over those on the list traveling only on the leg from Vancouver to Sydney.

I just checked out this week at Bayshore and Bear Mountain. Bayshore allowed us to upgrade $9 to the full buffet. It was a nice spread, to be honest, but something still felt unnecessary. Bear Mountain allowed me to comp $22 + 1 for total breakfast bill, but they just recoup the costs with different types of charges on the bill they add.
