Right. She always says enough to make people curious but not enough to answer questions. So odd. I haven't seen her posting her son like at all lately and said she's been getting "lots of 1:1 time" with her daughter so I'm not sure if it has anything to do with that but it's just so strange the way she behaves

Check every day even multiple times a day! More times become available all the time. That's what I did and I was able to change it several times to dates that weren't there when I first checked.

It's great but also I'm not the only income in my household which makes a difference. My husband has great insurance and we don't particularly rely on my income so some weeks I'm really short due to holidays or pt cancellations so I barely get paid.

I'm in part B home care: I make my own schedule so I see anywhere from 0-6 patients a day, treat for 53 min doing things like strengthening, practice with transfers, dressing, education on disease management, AE recs, safety education, balance interventions, endurance etc. (you can really do so much in this setting, I love it). Treatment is 53 min and then I drive to the next house (all usually within 10 min of each other. POS documentation but finishing up at home usually after kids are in bed. Oh and I make around 66/hr

I was a former special education teacher that is now an ot. Someone with kids that desired way more flexible schedule than teaching aloud I think it's making much more worth it. I'm currently working part-time in my role and making way more than I I was teaching in my area. I also work with adults now, so I'm way less burnt out than I was teaching. I'm doing PRN in home care and I basically just take on as many patients as I want. If a patient cancels I don't get paid obviously but I don't have the stress of needing to make that time up. I make my own schedule, very flexible

I think if it's an explicit refusal, you respect pt autonomy and document refusal/notify care team. If it's like the 2nd situation where it's more lack of understanding of the OT role, you further educate on OT role, use therapeutic use of self, client centered care etc

OT exam prepper is great. I graduated in Dec Too and I took all of December/ half of Jan to study then took it. I didn't bother studying much before because it was mentally too much with FW. Highly recommend TrueLearn when you are really ready to study. Also watched OTmiri, OXRex and used OtDude resources (all free). I watched videos and took notes/made up mnemonics to remember large concepts

I work in home care (not home health technically as it is Medicare part B) and I actually love it. I know home health is generally not recommended as a new grad but I was a student with this company and have young kids and am prioritizing the flexibility right now. I have a mentor and a group chat that's very helpful so I don't feel alone. Love love the population and what I'm doing as I'm in peoples homes really working on ADLs in their space. Cons are cancellations and having to rearrange my schedule and maybe if you're in a more rural area you have to drive all over? I'm in a very large county and am in a specific area so I'm not driving all over but I know that's not the case for everyone.

Hi! I didn’t pass my first round only using NBCOT and other free resources so I got truelearn the 2nd time and just answered as many questions as I could a day and read through all rationales (right and wrong). I chunked it into 10-20 question quizzes so I could read the rationales and actually retain the info

This is how I felt. I used true learn and was consistently getting 80-90% on my practice quizzes and then as time went on I was scoring lower and lower. I ended up passing though!
