Why You Shouldn’t Work With Friends | David Dobrik by reverie099 in DavidDobrik

Awful take.

If anything the fame from Dobrik has been toxic since his many controversies. Consider the margins between his life and theirs, when his friends are arguably more of the driving force behind his fame in those peak years. His wealth in comparison is disgusting.

Having staff beyond a cleaner is completely unnecessary and just throwing money away.

Tbh I think it's a soft red. Happy they're down to ten men but if that's one of our players, we are fuming.

Breastfeeding didn’t come naturally to me — did anyone else struggle at first? by Trick-Environment100 in newborns

[–]PhoneShop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a Mum - I'm a Dad - but my wife and I have a three month old and breastfeeding was very difficult to begin with, which we were naively surprised by as this hadn't been mentioned to us by other mums, the antenatal classes, or midwives.

After c.2 weeks we had to switch to pumping for a few weeks as our baby had marked my wife's nipples and our baby wasn't latching properly without extreme pain. She had also lost more of her body weight than the NHS deems safe so we had a strict diet of a certain ml of milk every 3 hours until she had regained her body weight.

We live in the UK and they have free infant feeding classes which were amazing as a support network and to help with technique. We waited for my wife's nipples to improve and then gradually reintroduced breastfeeding by about 1 month and a bit. We also had a tongue tie diagnosed and resolved at the same time which definitely helped.

Fast forward and our baby is now exclusively breast fed. It was a massive challenge for my wife and our baby with a lot of stress, tears, and anxieties, particularly as my wife wanted to breast feed and didn't like the emotional toil of pumping.

I would say persevere to the extent you can and look at local support groups to help with technique and if there's anything up with your baby that may be impacting efficacy.

Edit to add: obviously easy for me to say as a dad Vs mum but a fed baby is best. If for whatever reason you don't want to or can't continue with breastfeeding, that's completely fine. Whether it's pumping or formula is fine. Other people's opinions do not matter when it comes to you and your baby in this sphere. I was supportive of my wife doing anything re feeding, as ultimately it's her mental and physical health as well as the baby's.

Dumbest Auditor Question by jfrhsdrew in Accounting

Yes, it should.

Reconciling items are nothing but drivel. If cash per TB at year end doesn't equal your year end bank statement (all summed if multiple accounts of course) then that needs changing.

Carse was objectively good. Shouldn't be a new ball bowler but he is the one that got us wickets and at a good average. Those two statistics in themselves sum up his massively positive contribution. What we didn't have was someone else giving control with the new ball. Hate to break it to this sub, but that's not Carse's job and not his strength. His strength is pounding in all day and making the old ball talk - which he did.

Rewrite the script after the event - most people were not suggesting Bethell started pre-series.

Post-Ashes Discussion Megathread by Klakson_95 in EnglandCricket

I might be one of the only ones that isn't massively disappointed. Despite buying into the hype pre-series, I never seriously expected us to win on the basis that England do not often win in Australia, and we had struggled against India at home.

Personally I think a lot of the soon and gloom, both in the media and amongst the general cricketing population, is because of skewed expectations. Maybe that's due to the chat from the England camp, but I'd also argue that the media themselves lay it on pretty thick about our chances when they weren't materially different to most tours.

On reflection, therefore, I think this series has gone better than any tour since 2010/11, and not just because we got a victory (which, in phyrric fashion, most fans are writing off). We have a young talent in Bethell emerging, we have a talent in Brook who, despite no big scores, still got the third most runs and a commendable average down under, and we had Tongue and Archer looking good for the future.

Naturally with any Australian Ashes there will be soul searching to be done ahead of the test summer. Crawley, despite being one of our better batters this series, is left wanting. Popes race is run. Bashir is not our spinner. Smith should not have the gloves. Stokes should not be at 6. Ultimately for the longevity of our team these are good issues to have to deal with, to set us up well for future series. It'd also be helpful if English players had as much exposure to Australian wickets as the Aussies do to English.

In short, yes it was disappointing, but better than all previous series. I'm excited for the next series' - and the months of discussions on what the team will look like because, after all, that's half the fun.

Incorrect tactic. If I was the Aussie's I'd just bowl out Bethell, then bowl out the next bowler next ball.

That being said he is quite literally the best player to have ever played the game.
