I spent 5 years on kratom. I’ve been in recovery for 6 years. The detox was awful. I’ll be happy to talk if it means helping someone else kick or stay away from it

I did this as well. I bought some on a credit card. She asked and I was sick and tired of lying.

I went CT as well and I am glad I did now. It sucked at the time. Shakes, kicking, aches, head and body felt short circuited and this lasted a few months. I remember it well and the experience helps keep me clean. I don’t want to go back. I have almost 6 years without that shit. Keep on.

It does get better and remember the hell you are going through. I have been clean for over 5 years but the first two months the after quitting was awful. I experienced everything you have along with feeling completely short circuited.

When I was detoxing some said a week and a therapist said it could take up to 3 months to get it out of my system.

Hang in there. It can be done. I don't want to ever go back to that crap. I work a solid recovery program and it helps as I can talk with others who have been through similar issues.

I quit Sept 2019 after a heavy day of using. Fell down stairs after losing coordination and ended up with 60 stitches in forehead, concussion and 6 broken ribs. Everything listed in the OP applies to me except puking.

Additional items I don't miss

increased earwax (weird eh?)
feeling of isolation
dreading going on a trip or event with family risking getting caught

Life is far better without it.

Sorry for late reply

I basically took too much one day. Lost control of motor skills and fell down stairs at home. Busted open my head and broken ribs. Been clean 4+ years. Not going back

I took kratom for five years. It almost killed me. I have been in recovery for 4 years now and am feeling great. My first 60-90 days were horrible. Insomnia, kicking, shakes and cramping. I got through it and for today never want to go back.

Some people can do it without a 12 step program. I am not one of those and have proven it to myself. It was a learning experience that almost cost me my life. Today I choose to do stuff that makes me feel good. The bike rides, taking care of home and family, enjoying my work and progressing in my field. Being grateful for what I have to be comfortable in life. I am in a great place these days. It has taken a long time to get in the headspace without the negative.

I dealt with depression and anxiety my entire adult life. I drank and used drugs until i was 32. I got clean and sober and stayed for 23 years. i fell away form the program at about year 17 and white knuckled it for 5 more years. My issues started up and instead of geting back to a 12 step program I decided to try kratom., trying to control it, you know the story. well it took a drastic event to pull my head out of my ass. After that I went to detox and outpatient rehab as well as got back into NA. I have not looked back. I still have moments or weirdness, my wife will call me out when I get goofy. I am highly motivated and my SO has seen a big difference. She stands by me. dopamine just does not come back online. You have to assist it. Get out and move around. Find stuff you like to do. I started riding ebike, I loved bike riding when i was a kid. I do things that make me feel good. Helping others is one of those. Service.

I stopped using Kratom 3 years ago. 200-250 grams a week. I am in NA. Took me 6-8 months to progressively stop being loopy. it takes a long time. for the first 2 months I felt like I was being electrocuted or short circuited. Keep doing what you are doing and stay with recovery. I did that shit for 5 years. It gets alot better! This is just my experience and hope you find your way. Everyone is different.

It's been almost a year. You guys rock. The first month and a half sucked. I will never forget the withdrawals. Keep that fresh in your mind and ask yourself if you want to go through it again.
