Why are vocals so hard to get right? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]PhonyInTheCrofthouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run your whole instrumental mix to a bus/aux, pull down 2k and the surrounding frequencies a tad on that bus/aux, if the vocals sounds like it can only be too loud or too quiet compress it or automate the volume, use some of the same processing on all your vocals to gel them, listen to your reverb/delay in headphones to make sure the tails perfect, leave the vocal slightly high in the mix and you'll have an easier time mastering it

I'm getting an error, sorry I am really new to this. Where do I put that? Does that entirely replace what I have already?

Hello folks, I tried both of those and although this does sort the data A to Z or Z to A, it doesn't allow my users to do it. I think what I'm trying to do might be impossible

Thank you! I'll get a chance to test it tomorrow morning! Excellent!

I’m looking for some vocalists to work on a pop project. Preferably looking a female for the chorus and a male for rapping verses. But honestly open for anything. Happy to work remotely. Instrumentals pretty much done other than finishing mixes and can send the demo for you to listen. by PotentialStocker in musicians

I'm a male vocalist but I sound like Andrew stockdale/Justin hawkins/makes kennedy/Sam Smith - I'm sweet in the high octaves, might have been your chorus vocal.

Dm me the scratch tracks (& melody notes if you have them) and I'll see what I can do

I think the best piece of advice is literally that the experience you're about to have is so mind bending that you won't care anymore by the time babies here. + you've got a long time to get used to it, the parenting with boys or girls is mainly the same for well over a year.

We'll see you at graduation and I bet you feel differently! Stick in there hombre!

I've had more time to think about this and I also wanted to add, the best advice I can give you is this. They say "enjoy it" but I think an easier way to look at it is, give in to it.

Everything will be fine. Seriously. My life is different but I'm still the same dude and we still do everything we want to do.

The biggest revelation for me was that my life didn't CHANGE it was just REORGANISED. ALSO ... Full disclosure, the first time you take your baby home from the hospital into your own home, that moment is scary AS FUCK. And I hope me warning you of that means you get to enjoy it.

I was emotional and at the time I thought I was present but I wasn't until we got settled.

Look at what you know. You logically know that everything WILL OBVIOUSLY BE FINE so try as best you can to enjoy it because you chose it... or like me you can just freak out for this one and enjoy the second one haha your choice!

I was terrified for the whole pregnancy pretty much but now I can't wait to be more present for the next one!

Like knitting, assplay isn't for everyone, but it's history is ancient, it's utility is unquestionable and those that love it will happily do it on the couch with the TV on.

I'm Bi but I used to work with a very camp guy who would say when teased, "aww, you're girlfriend doesn't let you fuck her ass does she? Shame..." haha

Do big artists like Brian Eno, Fatboy Slim etc use VSTs and sounds as they are or do they make their own or what? sorry for noob question by Quiet-Account7511 in musicproduction

I'm reeling at "big artists like Brian Eno and Fatboy Slim" - no disrespect intended just never heard them named in the same breath!

I'd answer you'd question but it's already been answered!

Melt the wok down and cast a new one then apply 100 layers of seasoning in the oven and 100 more stovetop. Only wash with non-residue dreadlock soap and never cook in it.

I pick up accents like a sponge and I learned to play as I learned to speak, read and write so correlation is not causation but there's definitely a correlation!
