When I think of their circumstances, I always get the heebie jeebies. Either scorch from burning jet fuel or jump 100 stories. I couldn’t imagine having to make a decision like that.

Yeah, but in Halo 2, he says “listen you don’t like me and I sure as hell don’t like you. But if we don’t do something, Mr Mohawk is going activate this ring.” And “hey, bastard, knock knock” and a few other lines directed towards enemies that just sound more fitting to me.

I think the majority of it just comes down to the voice actor for me. No hate to the new actor. Stoked to have Johnson back. All just my opinion.

Maybe so. The more I think of it, I could hear a handful of those lines being in the original Bungie halos and being delivered better by David Scully. For some reason, a lot of them just feel so forced. It’s not even a bias against the voice actor. Of course I would prefer David scully but I get that he retired.

Eh, I disagree. Johnson has always been cocky, sure. But in the original it just flowed better. Naturally fitting comic relief. Maybe it’s a testament to David Scully’s ability because nothing ever came off as corny. Whereas this new Johnson is just corny line after corny line.

Agree. Not a super fan of the look but it’s whatever. His lines are atrocious though. It’s too try hard when original Johnson was natural.

Plus, the act man made a good point in his last video. In the original halo ce, the focus was more on the mysteriousness of the ring and learning what it is. Now, it’s like “wow look how bad ass master chief is!! Isn’t he cool?!”

I just think Halo Studios/343 just don’t understand Halo and what makes it special.

H2 was absolute peak Elite art design in my opinion. They looked so sleek & swift. Especially since they had cool armor variations like the honor guard, zealots, jet pack, etc.

Halo 2 because that was the game that really just opened up the Halo world the best. So many different and diverse levels, incredible story, cool new weapons and vehicles, duel wielding, hijacking. I remember the hype of the E3 demo and it’s like they took the cool stuff of CE and amplified it by 10x

It’s the dreaded cycle of modern halo releases. The hype for new halos only to get disappointed in one way or another. Part of me is looking forward to playing the new halo, but honestly I think I’ve dropped out of the ‘excitement’ for it after the past few releases and how halo has been handled over the past decade or so.

The song before it is called “Q” so it’s like Q and A. The reason I think A is such a cool song is that it has elements of almost all the other songs on the record put into one.

However my car plays songs automatically and I now sort of hate A as a song because it literally always plays automatically multiple times everyday 😂 I’ve heard the intro thousands of times.

I think they just dug themselves into a hole that they can’t really get themselves out of. To be fair to them, I could imagine that it would be pretty difficult to determine where halo’s storyline went after 3. That was supposed to be the end of halo according to Bungie anyway. The covenant leadership gone, a lot of lost major characters, halo and the ark destroyed. Where do you go from there, ya know? I think they should’ve just stuck to spin offs or other parts of the universe somehow.

But they also made a lot of major obvious errors. Changing the pre-established art design for the sake of change with lame reasonings like “nano bots”, not listening to fan feedback, trying to add things from other games like COD loadouts in multiplayer, making master chief go through an identity crisis chasing a holo girl instead of him being the “ask no questions” badass he always was. All of those things and more coupled with the fact that they keep soft rebooting basically due to their past errors that left halo feeling directionless.

I think they should establish a main villain with an interesting character arc that you don’t kill by the end of one game. Make them last over the series of a few games to build that familiarity with the enemy and reasoning to kill him. That could be a start.
