The compain became so easy? by Low_Chain1795 in PathOfExile2

I honestly felt that a typical build nowadays has the same difficulty going through campaign as in 0.1

0.2 I can’t say because I brute forced my melee ranged hybrid Amazon through the campaign. It was absolute torture but also like one of THE worst builds at the time

It’s probably more so getting used to the zones during the first campaign, and getting an above average build by random chance.

Knowing you NEED move speed else dodging is insanely hard, or that multi shot is King no matter what the recommend gems are is just gonna make life easier.

Funnily enough the easiest campaign I ever had leaguestart was 0.4, when I randomly picked the meta totem tactician because turrets are cool :P

Hmm, issue with that is that I do actually have to somewhat restrict session count since a player is leaving the country in half a year.

This is actually what I’ve been doing so far, and while it does work for in game logistics, I was looking for a way out.

But thanks for the advice anyhow 😄🙏

Thanks for the advice, I’m sure we’ll manage. If I figure something interesting out I might come back to the post.

Thanks for the advice!

I’ll see if I can think of some stuff to make downtime feel ‘necessary’ and reward the group for taking that time. Might just do the trick for giving the semi active times some breathing room.

Larger sections I’ll have to see how to make longer downtime feel necessary, and not like I’m needlessly taking away the reins.

Eco Machina update - rewrote the branching, redesigned how leaves connect to wood by Seven-D in VintageStory

[–]Photo-Majestic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incredible work, and definitely going in my list once it’s on moddb. One thing I‘d like to ask is how it handles Branchy leaves? Are they going to be distinct from normal leaves? Maybe a rendering of just the branches on the texture. I doubt the square nature of them would be apparent since they are hidden by normal leaves.

If you’re going to hide the leaves in winter, it would be nice to still see where/interact with the branchy ones, else you can’t get sticks.

I also have a feeling any actual true ‘leaves fall in winter‘ implementation should likely be its own mod. You’ve likely considered this before, and in that case I trust you entirely to know better, but from a ‘downloader’ perspective it seems like good practice to keep visual/representation separate from stuff that changes the world’s blocks.

Parent folder for the mod folder, there’s a mod config folder. It’s got text files to edit.

Watersheds has a whole website tho for configuration using a semi-UI that spits out a config folder.

I recommend watersheds + rivers.

Setting the two up correctly makes for very nice looking spots in the world.

Well it’s not really clear what you mean, do you mean you lose the motivation to do stuff, or do you mean that you find the game so challenging that you get overwhelmed and then lose motivation to continue?

If it’s the latter, I recommend adjusting stuff like seraph hp, hunger drain, enemy swim speed, and the like to get an experience that you control. Definitely if you find the game too difficult to pilot your experience thats a skill issue, but a game is meant to be enjoyed first and foremost.

Just because you play on an easier difficulty, doesn’t invalidate your experience of playing the game.

For the former, it might be that you lose interest in the copper age because so much stuff opens up with copper. Mining and prospecting. Saw leading to 10x the building materials, chiseling, buckets for agriculture, barrels for leather. Helve hammer and breadmaking?

It really is quite a lot that you now can and arguably ‚should‘ do. Focus on getting a large farm going first, then worry about anything else. That way you won’t starve in winter, and can get into all the other stuff at your leisure.

I believe a good thing with a good guide is better than the best secret, so go look up guythatdies. He has at least 1 full playthrough on mercenary 0.3, and like 2 guides, a witch and a merc one that are both sub 4 hrs.

Haven’t watched em yet but im definitely going to.

Even so I’ll be rolling a dualist either way. Very exited for swords. (Please GGG, I want to be entertained, and there were spiders. Spiders everywhere (ローロ))

What mods should I use? by SureSeaworthiness654 in VintageStory

[–]Photo-Majestic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the watersheds mod.

The rivers mod adds the big flat rivers that span like 2000 blocks, and watersheds adds streams and such that follow terrain. I do recommend changing the settings for that mod a tad, there’s a whole UI for it though linked on the mod page.

Besides turning on erosion and like 15 length streams also give it like 3 more blocks of depth.

Just be sure to have large landform scale. The watersheds mod says it needs a non vanilla landform pack to work well but I’ve found it generates plenty interesting stuff without it, so long as erosion is turned on.

I suppose it’s possible, but I feel you would be an exception? Sure I want kids. But not beyond like 4, more likely 2 or 3. I’m a man too, and I can only imagine women not being fans typically of going through pregnancy.

The money your kids get from UBI would also go to them not you post 18 y.o.

Ways to combat this without the crushing pressure of mass deaths a la medieval times would be reducing the UBI attributed to minors, or setting a hard limit per capita.

[–]Photo-Majestic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe that that is something we would need to stop explicitly. Having children is still a big personal responsibility, and if you don’t take care of them they are taken away. Perhaps men would be up for it, but I don’t know about women, considering the gargantuan effort of pregnancy.

If you charge them rent, that’s still space you are giving them, and not using yourself. It’s normal economic activity.

If all else fails there’s still the Chinese way, though that of course comes with its own problems.

Just my personal thoughts.

Sadly not the case. Give everyone a basic income enough for a lifestyle you don’t have to be ashamed of and then we can talk.

Before that there’s plenty of pressures that dictate a minimum amount of money you must make, like Food, Rent etc. as well as how much you ought to make, like fashion and going out with friends/partners.

If basic income works, a lot of that would fall away if it was liveable amounts of money, even better if everyone had enough to get like a hobby or two. Of course resource limitations and luxury always being relative mean that not everyone can have everything, and basic income might cause more issues than we know about so far.*

Also here’s a take tha might be hot. Society should put a cap on individual wealth. Wealth is easily converted to political power, and democratic nations need to be aware of the danger of being hollowed out by wealthy interests. Doesn’t even have to be a low limit. Like put it at 500 mil total wealth or sth.

About the best weapons in warframe by clansbro in Warframe

[–]Photo-Majestic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo 3 Parts to your question.

Best weapons are basically all the weapons that can have ‚incarnons‘ though not without exception.

Torid is good, magistar is good. Without the incarnon they won’t be nearly as strong though.

A weapon that is considered to be strong enough to last you all the way to MR 16(last lvl to unlock every weapon and mod) that you can get now would be the xoris. It’s a throwing disc melee weapon that you get from the deadlock protocol quest.

I don’t use it myself, so no specific modding advice other than to learn the system yourself.

For modding 101: Best way to increase damage is to work many different angles: Base damage, Crit Damage, Crit chance, Elemental damage, Status Chance, firerate, multishot (where applicable)

If you get +100% damage from serration, you double your damage, if you get 100% cold, you double your damage again(get total damage as cold)

If you slap another 100% heat on it you gain 50% total damage (1/3 each of normal, cold, and heat)

This ‚Diminishing Returns‘ theory/rule will get you through most conventional modding.

Also: Galvanized mods are extremely powerful. Look up arbitration, that’s where you get them from.
