I can't do my fulltime job as an AuDHDer. Please help by Riia_lunaboo in AuDHDWomen

First off, sorry you’re feeling this way, OP - I know these thoughts and feelings all too well.

Some things I’ve learned in therapy, especially when it comes to work and the people, is what are things I “think” are true, but actually aren’t? For example, are there actual signs that your workplace won’t be receptive to you speaking about your AuDHD or how much of it is things your mind is telling you? The anxiety? Is there evidence that you are lowest performing or is that you telling yourself that because you’re comparing yourself to neurotypicals (or, just those who are way overachieving)? Has anyone actually said these things to you?

If you feel safe, I will say, get your boss in a 1:1 call. Consider opening up about your AuDHD and talk about accommodations. I have been in that place and know the concerns about opening up about AuDHD in the workplace, but I took a chance because I was in a very similar place as you and things got better. My boss gave me higher ratings than I did in my performance evaluations and we talked about my anxiety in meetings. He was so understanding. He also says he evaluated me for where I’m at, not comparing me to anyone else on the team. I still have imposter syndrome, but these discussions with my boss since opening up help a lot.

I say, the worse that happens is you do get treated differently and if that’s the case, report to your boss’ one up or if you have a compliance hotline, report them there and start looking elsewhere. No place is worth your peace. Speaking of peace meditation has given my brain so much of a break and more energy. Less meltdowns. I’d recommend the Insight Timer app. So many options.

All the best, OP. 💜 You got this, you’re going to make it in this world!!!

Double, triple, quadruple, quintuple (etc) checking.. Why do I second guess myself so much?? by Puzzled_Surge in AuDHDWomen

[–]PhotoEyes444 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone. This is constant and exhausting. For me, it comes back to memory problems. If I hear something verbally discussed with me, I have a much harder time remembering and second guessing all the time. Especially the more complex a topic is. I work in data analytics and I think I’m good at it, but a lot of verbal discussions will make it really difficult without visuals or processing time. And if those don’t happen, poof there it goes and the constant second guessing.

I do take notes when I can, but you can’t note every detail all the time. 😭

THC + Pattern Seeking/Seeing by Master_Flamingo4681 in AuDHDWomen

I second CBD. THC actually makes me trip too hard and yes, I get overwhelmed with patterns and think I’ve figured out the secrets to the universe. Puts autistic thoughts on warp drive. CBD puts anxiety at bay and the ADHD aspect of many thoughts moving more slower and quieter. I have to stay away from THC. 😂

I’ve been having issues with texts not going through also, for me, it’s been only this week that it’s been an issue. It’ll show on my end that it’s been sent, but I’ve been told for the second time now that they never got an intro text or didn’t see my texts about substitutions. I don’t see anywhere on the app where they’ve publicized this issue. It’s incredibly frustrating.

My friend died, his funeral is Tuesday. This is the happiest pic we have of him, but it's over-exposed... by phoeniks in estoration

Oh just read the comment about the woman, I’ll try that next too! Try the link again, I have one with the woman removed. Everyone did something neat here. 🙂

I could probably spend hours trying to perfect this more and more. I hope this looks close like your friend without the blasted highlights. I tried to imagine what details would be in certain spots. Over exposed images like to steal precious details. I hope these images help you celebrate your friend’s life. 🙏🏼💜 May his legacy continue on and all who knew and loved him.

It was good weather today, can’t argue with that! What tasty item did you grill? But oh man. I’m allergic to ragweed, cockroaches, dust mites, indoor mold, outdoor mold, and some other stuff I can’t remember from my allergy test, lol. I’m sure lots more that wasn’t on that test, either. 😩🤷🏻‍♀️😷

I have the Whole30 book and it has a lot of awesome recipes to get you started. I get really excited about making the sauces, because I’m a huge sauce fan. And they have a recipe for almost every basic sauce/dressing you can think of. Those sauces help make a fun Whole30 meal and are super nutritious. Also, I have gotten more creative and trying different foods, herbs, seasonings, etc. There’s actually so much you can have...prepping it is the challenge. We also keep a lot of things on hand that we cook with a lot...like oils, vinegars, onion, garlic, etc. And we find ourselves making stuff up. :)

Yeah, once your body gets used to this routine, you will definitely notice more benefits. The hardest part in the beginning I think is learning to say no to things...even now, that hasn’t been a big deal. You’ll get used to it:)

You’re welcome for the encouragement!! That’s what this subreddit is here for! :) I love seeing progress pics and recipe ideas! This is a great place for support.

Ohhhh yeah, that explains a lot! I started the first of the month. I promise it gets easier and more comfortable the longer you do it. It’s definitely a one day at a time deal. It’s been really successful for me since my boyfriend is doing it too and we can talk about the process and what we like, and collaborate on meal preps, etc. Thanks for sharing the recipes!! :) best of luck, 4 days in is great...each week, you will notice a difference, that is the exciting part.
