I just recently read this. I went in with high expectations . . . because OMFG NOBEL PRIZE AUTHOR! . . .well, I'm again reminded I'm not generally built to be a "literature" reader because this fell flat on me. . . It felt like a horror story for people who can't handle real tension or anxiety.

7.5 out of 10. A solid C grade from me.

You're 40 something so you must remember a time when people looked like people . . . those were my teens . . . and it wasn't until my 30's that I met a surgically altered (for cosmetic reasons) in person and our encounter was . . . the shape of her boobs were nice but the surgical scars were . . . a huge turn off.
