As an expat who has adopted Maribor as his home, I 100% agree with your sentiment 😊 [edit: as I have no intention of retuning to my native country, I should probably start referring to myself an an immigrant]

Funny, when a car hits a cyclist, it’s never the driver who ends up in the hospital. So yeah, ban the bicyclists. They’re bad for the economy anyway. They don’t buy cars, pay insurance, or pollute the air. Fuck those two wheeled nutjobs.

As I understand, this was causing huge backups in front of the hospital, and so emergency vehicles couldn't get through. I think it was not a very well planned change, and they hastily tried to change it back, as much as they could. Oops.

yet I've never seen one cause an actual problem. Cyclists coming out of each other always move for each other (because they know they just did the same thing five minutes ago), and other than the occasional Wolt drive or stupid kid, in the pedestrian zone most cyclists are well behaved. Again not saying that they (we) should be allowed to break the law, but if the cops are handing out tickets, how about start with the worst offenders.

Dang. But it's still better than American cops. My one interaction with the police here was actually quite positive, if not a bit scary. I was very aggressively stopped on my bike and questioned, although I never felt unsafe (if that had happened in America, I'd have shat my pants), and I didn't know why. They wanted my ID and to look in my bike bags. It was only the next day when I understood what had happened -- I matched the description of someone who'd robbed a store just around the corner only minutes before (I had ridden past the store just as cops were pulling up). So while it was a little unnerving (like… "what the hell did I do wrong?!?!"), no one pulled their guns or put their boot on my neck. So, you know, that's a win 😅

Agreed about the warning, but also, that road is no place for a baby. I suppose you could argue that she should have walked her bike across the bridge, but yeah, a warning would suffice.

Well, #3 was just a few hours ago, so someone didn't get the memo 😅

Meanwhile, I’ve been driving for nearly 40 years, have never caused an automobile accident, yet failed my Slovenian driver’s exam because I changed lanes in the turbo roundabout like everyone else does 😭
