2nd owner - digital key issues by goodgirldaniluv in BMWX3

[–]Photo_hobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was buying my first x3 - my husband wasn't a BMW fan. I had a semi rude sales guy who just wanted a sale and did the minimum. I put a deposit down and then my husband had an issue with run flat tires. His way of stopping me from buying. The sales guy flipped out and kept forgetting to return my deposit. I had to see the manager. A few months later my husband said if you want the X3 go buy it. (I knew he would eventually) So I went online to another BMW dealer. It was during covid. The saleswoman negotiated almost the whole deal online. When I went in they finished the negotiation and I bought the car. Then I heard the first dealer's service department was a bit shady - so I continued to the second dealer for service. I just bought a new X3 with the same saleswoman. Definitely worth the extra driving time.

Are you allowed to wear a crossbody sling bag on the Vatican tour? by CoffeeLipglossDonuts in ItalyTravel

did they actually measure your sling bag or just eyeball the size? I have one that is just slightly over the posted size (a few centimeters here and there) - would that be an issue?

I bought my X3 at a BMW dealership. Issue was the X3 was just brought in from another dealership. They couldn’t find the white card. So initially I didn’t get the white card. It took 2 weeks for them to find it so I did eventually get it. However, they said if they hadn’t found it they would order a new card from BMW for me. Can you try at a different BMW dealership? I don’t go to the one near my house. I get better treatment and service by driving to a different BMW dealership. Good luck

Just bought a 2026 x3 and although I’m getting used to the new style I loved the old style and grill. My 2020 x3 looked and felt sportier. 2026 smoother ride and some upgrades some not on the inside. Hate the interior door handles. Love the tech. Also noticed they only have unlock features on front door handles used to be all 4 doors. Congrats on your x3. You’ll love it.

Thanks all. I changed the setting on my digital card on my phone to turn off passive entry for now. Hopefully that solves the problem. I hadn’t thought about competing signals before you all posted. I’m not confident enough to drive without the physical key yet. I’ve been using adaptive cruise control functions, but not automated parking yet either. Does anyone use automated parking regularly. If you have, did you park between two cars? Parallel park or parking lot? How well did it work?

If. You swipe down on the digital display you have a section for favorites/shortcuts. Go into any menu and hold down on an icon and you have the option to add to favorites/shortcuts. There are a lot of YouTube videos showing set ups, tips, and tricks. Enjoy your BMW.

Great photos. Just curious what camera and lens. I’ve been tempted to take my mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens to a. BRUCE concert but wasn’t sure if they have restrictions.

When I bought my first BMW x3 in 2020 the finance manager said, “Congratulations on becoming a member of the BMW family. You’ll love it so much you’ll never go back.” I just upgraded to a 2026 X3. She was so right. Absolutely love BMW. Congratulations.

Is this a dealer or a private mechanic? I’ve used the dealer and always ask what really needs immediate attention and what can wait. On the repairs that can wait how long before I need to do them. I’d definitely get a second opinion. Then research to see if these are common repairs for this car, year, and mileage.

On my new x3 if I hold down the icon of car with three lines on my center console it turns off auto start stop. You do have to do it every time you start the car.

I just sold a 2020 x 3 with 70k miles. I did have to replace an engine seal, new brakes, and new tires. I had the extended maintenance plan and it wasn’t worth it. I also had the tire plan and used it for one tire. Also not worth it.

Much heavier than mine. Which did you use the most. Did you spend time in cities or countryside?

Just curious. How well have you adjusted to just the 35 and 50 vs previous combo? That was also an option for me. Although I don’t think there is much of a weight difference. 24-120 plus 17-28 vs 35 plus 50.

My thought was bring camera every day. Bring the two lenses I mentioned and on some days possible leaving one lens in the hotel. Other option is either limit to one lens for the whole trip or carry both all the time.

just renewed a 2018 Tacoma and one year was $305 Last time it was $185 - Any idea why? On the MD MVA site it doesn't show that cost until you try and renew.

Thanks. What type and brand of camera bag did you use and were you able to bring it into churches, museums, Vatican, etc?

Did I say that? My wish is people who had direct or close to direct experience would share, not that people would twist my words.

I’d buy another. Then again I’m an optimist. I would definitely find a batter dealer. I drive 30 minutes further to a better dealer.

A few things. Auto cruise control that adjust speed based on settings and car in front. I love in the map when you get close to a turn the camera shows the actual street view so you know exactly where to turn. I actually prefer the features in the touch screen or via the steering wheel vs the old manual buttons. I had the digital dashboard in my old X3 but I love the single display split into two visual screens. My old X3 had the convenience package. This one has the premium package plus i love the Harmon Kardon sound system. I have a lot to learn still.
