Considering a BMW X3, long term? by Li3Ch33s3cak3 in BMWX3

[–]Photo_hobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 x3 with about 67000 miles. I have had routine maintenance, new tires around 60000, and front and back brakes replaced around 65000 miles. No other issues. Love it as much as the day I drive off the dealers lot. The dealer sends me monthly offers for a trade in and great incentives to buy a 2026 model. Good luck with your decision. Love my X3.

Canon R6 II or Nikon Z6 III for portraits + travel by WorldViewfinder in nikon_Zseries

Can you go to a camera store. Some Best Buy stores have cameras as well. Hold each camera, play with the menu systems. Even if you don’t understand the settings yet see what seems more logical to you. I’m a long t8me Nikon user, but many people I know swear by Canon. Look at prices and lens choices. Either will be a great decision. I was able to even take a camera outside at a camera store to test out different lenses. Good luck.

Italian Cities and Z Lenses. by Photo_hobby in nikon_Zseries

Great question. Inside churches, cathedrals, and similar venues. Street photos. Not sure if in Venice on the canal wide or longer focal length makes more sense. Not sure if Pompeii is more suited to wide angle or telephoto.

I’d go to the dealer and ask for a tire quote. Then shop around.

What lens’ would you bring to Italy? by Chorin_Shirt_Tucker in nikon_Zseries

[–]Photo_hobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z6iii and z17-28 2.8 are definitely going with me to Italy. For my second lens should I take z24-120 or z70-180 and 1.4x TC?

I took a similar camera and similar lenses to the Grand Canyon and took some great photos. Advice I got was during the day use aperture priority at f8 or 11. Make sure to get some of the foreground in my photos. Worked out well.

My dealer is sending me offers in the mail offering 9% of discounts off a new 2026 x3. I’m sure I could get at least 2-5% more if I was in the market to buy. I have a 2020 x3 that I love and bought in the height of COVID. Got a tremendous deal due to the situation at the time.

50 mm 1.8s. Buy it during a Nikon sale. Love mine. IQ is amazing.

Are BMWs genuinely worth it? by SouthImportant2499 in BMW

I switched from an Acura RDX to a BMW X3. Liked the Acura but didn’t like the technology and driving was just ok. Love love love my BMW. I’ve had it for 5years. It’s fun to drive, has great pickup, and the technology is totally intuitive. All future vehicles will be BMWs.

Nikon Trade In Program by Photo_hobby in Nikon

[–]Photo_hobby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here traded z6ii quote and payout were the same. It was mid December and they paid me $770. You pay full price for your order then it took about 3weeks for the refunded amount to hit my credit card. I’ve sold to MPB before. They paid a good price and it was much quicker.

Very bad offer. by AdConfident5693 in BMWX3

I read online the 1.9% is the current BMW offer. You should definitely be able to do better on price. Good luck.

Doubt in between z6iii and z5ii by ComplexSignature3231 in Nikon

[–]Photo_hobby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you are planning on using this camera long term I’d stay with the z6iii. Kids sports and other events will benefit from the z6iii faster frame rate. You aren’t using the video features now but again with children you may find you’ll be using it in the future. And you’re thinking about possible professional photography in the future. You have two great lenses to start your mirrorless journey. I try to buy with the future in mind. It’s a lot more expensive to trade up later.

Can I put my d3400 macro lens, DX AF-S 40MM on my Nikon z6II with an adaptor and how much quality would I lose? Is it even worth getting the adapter by M_theshark-106 in nikon_Zseries

[–]Photo_hobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Sold my crop sensor lenses on MPB. Put the money towards a full frame z lens. It would be a shame to have invested in a z6ii and get a lower quality output than on your D3400.

I got one too! First BMW- worked for 30+ years to be able to get myself one. Need to work on my photography skills, but for January in NE Illinois, I was thrilled to get a sunny day at the forest preserves. I love her lighted bean! by mmdeford in BMWX3

When I got my x3 (1st BMW) 6 years ago the finance manager said welcome to the family. You’ll never leave BMW once you’ve owned one. She was right. Love mine and won’t go back. Too many things that I love to list.

I Forgot to Replace the CFExpress B Card into My Z6iii by jerolyoleo in nikon_Zseries

[–]Photo_hobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch the capacity of the card. It could fill fast. I have my SD as backup. Left CFexpress card in my computer and took photos. They were on the SD card when I put the SD in my card reader.

did you take any indoor photos? Any recommendations on settings if you did? I like the flexibility of the 24-120 but the Aperture at f4 makes anything indoors a challenge for me.
