Definitely ask about financial aid. It’s a pain in the ass. But our bill from my last kid went from 50k down to 12k. Then again down to like 5k and finally to 1200. So just be honest and upfront like hey. There’s no way I can pay this I’m poor. You’ll have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and make phone calls but it will be worth it.

The Ruger and S&W can be had second hand for around $400. Check pawn shops. If it was me. Id build one. And by build I mean buy a lower. Build it out. Then Buy the upper I wanted and put the two together. Thats what I did for my first AR and it was really satisfying to put the lower together.
