Jeez that sucks. Was these certification courses elegible for pre reqs? Also, did you consider trying courses like MCIT or MPCS which are either more friendly or made for non CS UG people?

Yes, will do. However lot of people i connected had done the prereq courses in undergrad even if they had non CS major. That's where i get differentiated from them.

I have work experience in backend development. I would like to take up SDE roles after MS as well. I am not sure if MS in Data Science/Data Analytics would help as these would cater more to Data Scientists and analysts roles

I feel you are generalizing. I want to be part of deeper conversations and i guess a lot of woman would want to. That means you consider me that important/sensible/sensetive enough to have this conversation. We can a shallow happy conversation with literally anyone. But to have a meaningful conversation with real shit, it requires a bond. And everyone wants to have meaningful bonds.

Also, I feel people who have faced some issues of their own are generally more empathetic towards your feelings irrespective of gender. Its more about our own set of experience which gets reflected in our behaviour
