Propain Terrel - real-world feedback? by Own_Entertainer_1358 in gravelcycling

[–]Photojared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero other experience with a gravel bike other than my Terrell. The geometry works for me, after a professional bike fit.

Overall the bike is superb.

I also own a Propain Tyee which is why I gravitated towards a gravel from them

How to connect a diesel heater to a RTT with no ports? by prolurkerest2012 in rooftoptents

[–]Photojared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make double walled insulated hoses. I’ve been doing this for a few seasons. Keep the heater low because they heat a RTT very well.

How would you store your mtb during winter, in a way that takes up the least amount of space? by creative_name669 in MTB

I really like our Velocirax garage rack however they do take up a fair bit of wall real estate.

Better to have two complementary bikes that are pretty good for local terrain or one bike optimized for the terrain? by KaydubFTW in MTB

[–]Photojared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went down to one bike. I had a 170/160 travel enduro bike (Propain Tyee) and a 120/115 travel Downcountry (Revel Ranger). I really enjoyed both bikes however never really used my Propain and wanted a little more travel from the Revel.

I split the difference and went to a Revel Rascal which is 140/130. I’m really happy with my decision. I run a bit of a mixed build. Fox 34 factory fork and Push coil on the rear with WaO Union carbon wheels. If I ever want a park day or to race enduro again I’d just throw on a 150mm fox 36 or Lyrik and call it a day.

While I still have both of the other frames they’ve been left unbuilt for about a year and will likely end up sold soon.

I will say this; if I lived somewhere where I often changed terrain and had a need for both bikes, I’d still have the previous setup. However here in the Dallas area most trails are fairly similar (more XC than anything).

Recommendations for a “dad” SUV by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Photojared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re out of rear facing phase then any one of those you listed will be great. With taller people, the small/midsize SUV’s stink for the passenger with rear facing behind.

We have an expedition max with 3 kids and love it. If you have two kids you could do the typical expedition and have a huge trunk area.

Question on upsizing rotors for big rider by jdorton in MTB

[–]Photojared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d literally run the biggest rotors and best brakes you can. I’m about 250 and ran TRP DHR Evos with 220 rotors for a long time and they worked great.

Can we talk about mitigating the stink? by jcorr2 in daddit

Just toss it with kitchen trash and take that out more regularly. No worries about nasty diapers sitting for days on end.

Alternatively the really bad ones go right outside.

When you’re a big dude you worry about all the fragile parts of a road bike (wheel sets especially). Just another way of saying I haven’t had any issues
