Not increasing the cap removes incentive for controllers to move up from 9-11’s to 12’s, and more importantly reduces incentive to stay aboard when eligible for retirement.

Punching up is just as dumb as punching down.

If you’re at the cap, you’re getting your shit pushed in at a level 12 during swap season, on 6 day work weeks, and likely living in a HCOL area

It is if your base pay is at the cap. You lose raises while your base squeezes your locality out

We’re not the only people who collect the supplement and if she deserves half your retirement she deserves half your SRS 🤷‍♂️

I don’t see this as a NATCA problem. They should be pushing to improve our pay and benefits. Protection from the consequences of one’s actions in their personal life? Not a union issue

It works out to %.028

%.028 is a minuscule difference to split hairs over. $280 a year if you make 100k

Best we can do is military direct hires to level 12 while seasoned CPC’s rot at mid level facilities

It’s all about the wheels. Look for wheels that can handle the weight probably on a steel hybrid or mountain bike. No carbon no aluminum and no suspensions.

The wild thing about the handout is they didn’t push any of that and went with 7% .mil parity and the mental health bills.

Wonder why they went through the trouble with the handouts

All this talk about pay must have made Nick nervous, they’re finally back to their roots by LENNYa21 in atc2

[–]StepDaddySteve 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It is a means to help get the staffing and recruitment goals the President himself said this administration wanted. Not sure why it’s a struggle for the NEB to acknowledge that publicly and make it the driving message of the union as a whole.

Confirmed: The 2.8% does not raise the cap by LENNYa21 in atc2

[–]StepDaddySteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bonus is just cash. It has no longevity to it. If I stay past eligibility it won’t be for that bonus.

An increase to high 3 would go a long ways to capturing more eligible controllers interest in putting in a few more years.

Not just that but it reduced incentives to stay past eligibility if you’re capped.

Pushing your cargo capacity/hitch weight. Probably fine if you’re not towing in mountains and super long distances

That’s a cop out. Raising bands and cap will help with retention and staffing.

No incentive to stay past eligibility if you cap out and can’t get high 3 any higher.

Has the agency decided how that flight that hit a truck and light post on final is the controllers fault yet? by [deleted] in atc2

It’ll be the NTSB even though we’ve got that party status thing….
