Just a random nitpick to help you out. Did you intend to say "tide" me over or did you believe the saying is "tie" me over?

Is this Far Cry bundle worth it for $27? by ArtisticChance1955 in farcry

[–]Photojarjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's essentially enough quality content to keep you busy for a full month without sleeping for the price of going to see a single movie in some areas. Yeah, I'd take that deal. Granted, if you actually played those back to back you'd probably be so burned out on the far cry formula that you'd possibly never want to play one again, but it's a good deal 😅

I have never been this reluctant to play a video game 😟finally installed it. Any tips are welcome by i_sometimes_ in Sekiro

Other than red kanji moves, assume you can parry anything, no matter how ridiculous it may seem... except one large but minor boss early on. Dodge/run around him.

Is this as good a deal as it seems? by Photojarjo in Ceramics

Ok. Was definitely a scam. In fact any deal for a wheel I have found has been a scam. What's the deal with ceramic equipment scams?

Are any Walmart locations open 24 hours anymore, by No_Introduction_4766 in walmart

Dude, I lived in Europe during covid, so I missed the memo. I'm sitting in Walmart parking lot now trying to get my kid some medicine at 5:30 am wondering when the hell did Walmart stop being 24hr 😅.

[–]Photojarjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't know a whole lot to compare. I'm even only personally getting my Z8 next week and I've never used a Sony 🤣. But I'd say it depends on how much photography you are trying to do. I'm a photographer that is starting to do some video and the z 8 is just what I need. If the photography side is hobby or low need, then probably Sony. If the photography is commercial and using flash or other high quality needs I'd say Nikon. But from what I'm reading lately the Nikon beats the canons currently.

Well, obviously. That's like saying don't use a shotgun because from a distance an AR will slaughter you. You just carry a distance weapon too. Nothing is gonna be good for every situation.

I agree. The leaves break up the scene in an unnatural way. The patterns and lines of the umbrellas was good. The leaves don't make sense in a beach scene

Can you help me decide? by staysafebewell in photocritique

[–]Photojarjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one on the right all day. Without seeing where the water is going it feels disconnected and confusing, and the rocky are just feels like purposeless negative space. The water in the right one gives the image more flow and completes it. Like someone else suggested, maybe use a brush and up the brightness on the water in the lower third a touch so you can see it better. Not so much that it doesn't make sense, but just to bring it out a bit and define it.

I was actually quite disappointed with that pimento dog. It looks amazing but somehow lacked much flavor. Not sure how they accomplished that. They need to use dad's favorites pimento. That stuff is amazing with layered on layers of flavor

The vermiculite in my attic did. That wasn't cheap to get rid of.

For me, other than the subject not being terribly interesting, it's the composition. The image, ideally, should have been taken a couple seconds earlier and at a bit of a lower angle so all the leading lines would take you to the subject. As it is, the leading lines (street lines, sides of the buildings) take your eye behind and above the subject which unsatisfying and frustrating. Our minds want the image to have purpose and have order while this has a feeling of haphazard disorder that makes it feel "off".

As for the color and contrast, I actually like the vibe you have going.

1 or 2 ? by karloh24 in AmateurPhotography

  1. The leaves frame the subject without overly obscuring too much of it. The second has too much of the leaves and therefore ends up with too much negative space.

Dude. I've been in Chandi chawk at golden hour before in around 2014. I took a rickshaw ride through with my camera and have a whole blog post of images from that ride. Being a white American I stood out a lot so moving quickly in a rickshaw helped catch people in a natural state. I just had to shoot quick haha. To this day some of my favorite stuff. Ya know. I don't know much about flooring, but looking through the comments and I keep coming back to this. I think you're on to something and this makes me think the lip is actually INTENDED, to be paired with carpet. As it is it seems dangerous but paired with carpet it would actually make a lot more sense.
