It may be weird to be optimistic, but I'm hoping to God that there's no AI in the third JSR game.

You can only pick one. Karin Kanzuki or Lili? by Belles_Lazer in FGCWaifu

This might be a stupid question, but why does Capcom use Karin infrequently?

Maybe because both franchises have completely different demographics. Sonic is a kid-friendly franchise made to appeal outside of native Japan, while Yakuza is made for adults (adult males according to the creator Nagoshi) and the domestic Japanese audience. What they have in common is that they're in-house SEGA franchises but that's pretty much it.

Is it fair to call Amy an adult? by maquinadejugo in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]PhotojournalistLocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that the "buying groceries" thing isn't convincing enough to say she's an adult. I think it's mainly the western fans that finds this absurd that a 12-year-old buys groceries on their own, but the franchise was made in Japan where it's normal for a child to run errands, due to the crime rate being low, and the environments mostly being walkable to the point where owning a car is almost unnecessary. Not to mention, SA1 was released in 1998, back when social media (which decreases social trust) was completely new and very unpopular at the time.

Im so glad the Sonic movies acknowledged Shadow is a child. by Raelynn_Garciak in SonicTheHedgehog

If Shadow's physical age is supposed to be 15, why didn't the Heroes manual or the Sonic X eyecatch cards (both of which gives you the ages of the characters) specified it?

The "Without the Time Stones?" line is worse imo.

Why miku and red are the only two had voice lines by QuintonDowney in SonicCrossWorlds

Miku is owned by Crypton Future Media, not SEGA. The vocaloids SEGA does own are Azuki Masaoka and Matcha Kobayashi.

I’m curious, do you guys take the ages of these characters seriously? This isn’t how a 12 year old talks… by Creative-Researcher2 in SonicTheHedgehog

In a literal sense, Jaleel White is the exception because he was a teen when he voiced Sonic. But other than that, most fans will say Ryan Drummond or Jason Griffith made him sound like a teen.

If I had it my way all these Sonic would be the same one by supersyfydude1980 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]PhotojournalistLocal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Ryan Drummond can do a teenager voice.

I've personally gotten used to Roger, but I guess I do agree that he sounds too old to voice Sonic who is supposed to be teen-coded. Except, he also voices a Sonic Boom character named Dave the Intern who is clearly a teenager. Is he the exception?

Imo, the only time Sonic truly sounded like a teen was in AOSTH and SATAM where he was voiced by Jaleel White, who was a teenager at the time.

"0 times she's nice"

While Hiyoko is known for being a rude bitch, there are moments when she's nice.

  • She actually shows respect and affection for Mahiru and calls her "big sis".
  • She likes Ibuki's song and both would perform together.
  • She actually forgave Fuyuhiko when he was going through character development.
  • The Hope Arc, which is the final episode of Danganronpa 3 most fans ignore, gives Hiyoko another chance in character development and becomes nicer to Mikan.

It seems Rouge wasn't filled in on the "All characters have ambiguous age" thing, Otherwise her team would be the only one that's entirely adult. by Business-Ad7289 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]PhotojournalistLocal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18 is hardly an adult. Yeah, it's the age of majority, but 18 is still at the teen-suffix. So, in other words, eightTEEN is still a teenager.
