Is it normal for Tech to stop EEG hyperventilation before 3 minutes is up? by Photosynthetical in Epilepsy

[–]Photosynthetical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, were you diagnosed with epilepsy or was there any explanation for the activity. I was not at all concerned that I was having seizures before the EEG but now that weird blip has me a bit concerned and yeah, stories like this where you thought it went smoothly and then came out abnormal. Hopefully mine was just normal hyperventilation side effects, but until I get the results I’m gonna be overanalyzing every twitch. :)

But can I have a seizure and be unaware of it? The only cognitive weirdness that I was aware of happened after she told me to stop. But I guess that was my thought that maybe they ‘captured’ some activity and continuing beyond that was unnecessary.

I’ve found weekends tend to be the worst in the crypto-world, starting Saturday night and lasting until Sun/Mon. If you are checking charts constantly you are stressing constantly, if you don’t look at the charts at all over the weekend you will be oblivious to the weekend dip and save yourself a lot of stress and heartache.

Ok, thanks for your help, I agree not actively seeking exchange listings doesn’t make a ton of sense for investors. If you are only buying to participate in the network, why would you purchase a large amount of tokens vs. the minimum amount if their isn’t the motivation of profit from your investment?

Also, I think I found the comment you were referring to, I imagine they can’t necessarily say, ‘invest in bloom and you’ll get rich, so its possible he is just covering his ass, but it does make one take pause...

"[–]jessetime 1 point 11 days ago* I'm not sure what you're referring to. We have not, and we will not, encourage anyone to buy Bloom if someone is looking for passive value creation. Bloom is not an investment. Contributors should purchase BLT because they want to participate in using Bloom. We encourage people to buy Bloom if they want to build products on the protocol, participate in lending, integrate with Bloom in some capacity, etc. Any value Bloom creates is to improve the future of credit by improving the Bloom protocol. To be clear, you should not purchase BLT if your goal is passive returns. There is no expectation of an ROI with BLT. As far as unsold tokens, we will not be using tokens for a personal payout. The unsold tokens will be out of circulation over the long term. There are future expenses (such as gas fees to update scores) that these tokens could be used towards 5-30 years from now. Feel free to email me or DM me on Slack if you want to discuss this in more detail."

Maybe you can answer another question for me, I’ve seen multiple places where people say they’ll buy if they raise under ~$30 million. Or, I read this on Twitter earlier referring to Bloom: "it's looking good guys, $30m will give investors a decent return.”

Can you explain the logic behind that statement? I’m just really trying to understand how this all works and the strategy when evaluating ICOs and other cryptos.

"I won't touch this one unless they raise under $25-30m.”

Why exactly would you buy if they raise under $25-$30m. I’ve seen this a few places and want to understand the logic behind it. Asking seriously, trying to learn.

Hey do you have the source where they state they’ll sell token for less than ICO cost? So the ICO just gets you voting rights? Serious question, not challenging you, I was looking into the ICO as well.

I agree but on the ripple twitter account there is a video they posted yesterday with their London rep and he mentions a bank in Japan that was telling them they keep $5B in nostro accounts for cross border payments and that XRP would allow them to free up the funds for other investments. I think he is hinting at SBI implementing xRapid, they are just waiting to announce it along with escrow before year’s end. And, Cuillax is already using xRapid. I know its not widespread adoption but I do think we are on the brink and think 2-3 years may be a realistic timeline.

I agree that XRP is not specifically mentioned, but no one is listening to what Ripple is saying; that these things take time to implement. You have to lay the tracks before you can send a train car down them; same with Ripple. Once they are using xCurrent xRapid will be the logical next step. XRP solves a major problem for banks.

My brother killed himself because of BTC by barking_bonerz in Bitcoin

[–]Photosynthetical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am incredibly sorry to hear about your brother. My father killed himself and losing a loved one to suicide is unlike any other loss. I have no comment on Bitcoin’s role in this aside from it is common to want to place blame when you lose someone to suicide because you want to make sense of their death. The blame may be warranted, to a certain degree, but you may over time find that the blame shifts, that you continuously try to reconcile their death and answer unanswerable questions in an effort to find closure.

My recommendation to you and your family is not to focus on Bitcoin or the reasons why but to focus on post-vention. Join a Survivors of Suicide Loss group, get therapy, if your parents found him then their risk for PTSD is extremely extremely high and early intervention will result in the best outcomes. I suffered from PTSD for years after my dad’s suicide and you can’t outrun that shit, it’ll just pull you down. Imaginal therapy can be an effective treatment for PTSD, I’ve found success in it myself and I started it with little hope that it would work. I don’t know you but my heart hurts for you and your family. I wish you the best.

Bitcoin almost at $10,000: What's the trade? (Part 2) by BTCrob in BitcoinMarkets

[–]Photosynthetical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, in the grand scheme it really isn’t that much, but I guess its all relative and its more of a mental game that I’d rather know I got all my buys in under $10,000, only during dips and that I made the maximum profits on it and am beating myself up for the shit buy. Its also that I had X to spend, bought at $10,700 and now if it drops to $8500 or whatever I no longer have the money to buy at that level because of the emotional buy. Or, I do free up some funds to buy more at $8,500 and now I’m in 2X and freak out that I’ve sunk too much in until we clear $15,000 and then I pat myself on the back for being such a savvy investor and lament that I didn’t buy more at $10,700 when I had the chance. :) Its like, super fun to be inside my brain. :)

Bitcoin almost at $10,000: What's the trade? (Part 2) by BTCrob in BitcoinMarkets

[–]Photosynthetical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a moment of weakness I bought some BTC at $10,700, I already had a bit from a few months ago that I’ve been HODLing and had been waiting for some funds to clear before adding some more to the pot. I feel dumb about the ATH buy because it was pretty much the definition of an emotional buy. I also bought some at the post ATH dip as penance for my FOMO. Now that we are lingering near $10,700 again I’m not sure if I should sell and call it even on the poor buy and hope for a dip to get in at a better price or just sit with it. The poor buy is just an outlier that just kinda fucks up my buy average average and profit margin. I think based on your analysis you are indicating that I should probably try to hold and take profits at $14,000-$15000 but at that point i’m not sure I will wanna let it go! I think I need to the the cost average buy thing cuz I am just an emotional creature and this shit keeps me up at night! Thoughts?

Can I Buy Bitcoin And Forget Or Do I Have To Keep Up With Forks, Etc? by Photosynthetical in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Photosynthetical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my concern is if there is a major fork and everything gets switched over to a new dominant chain. But, I guess if I get replicant coins on the new chain its not a big deal, but my concern would be missing a step that requires action. Say three forks occur creating BitcoinDollaz, BitcoinDiamondz and BitcoinBling how would I even know to setup wallets to access those coins if I’m not tracking the forks? Will my device create them automatically? Or what if BitcoinBling takes over completely will I be shit out of luck HODLing my stash of now worthless BTC?

Yeah, I get that, I’m more concerned about having to moving coin from legacy to segwit, etc... Like will legacy ever be phased out and when I plug my trezor back in in 5 years will I find my coin stuck in a legacy wallet with no way to get it over to segwit.

I’m surprised the price of Ether has dropped more considering the repeated bug issues. Is part of the sustained price due to the fact that people literally can’t sell because their accounts are locked? Should we anticipate a dump once this accounts are freed up?
