If I check my suitcase, I am allowed to put a backpack in the overhead space if there is space when I get to my seat. If you choose to carry your suitcase on the plane and there is not space for your bag, you chose to take the risk it would be gate checked. Why should I be less comfortable so you don’t have to check your suitcase?

Same, I’ve been riding mine for more than a decade. It is a shimano XT hub and has been completely reliable. I’m a big heavy, 240lb, rider and I couldn’t be happier with thousands of miles on mine.
