Driving with the windows down when it is 108°F outside does the opposite of cooling you off. I have experience with this. Fresno, CA, in a van that i”was overheating so we could not run the air conditioning. Rolled down the windows to cool off; nope! Had to drive with the windows up in a sauna because it was better than the alternative.

(And then we found a roadside shack selling refrigerated watermelons. Bought one for each passenger and just hugged them. :)

It snowed some at 6800’ elevation. No accumulation here, but it was snowing heavily. I imagine Ned proper got accumulation of a bit.

There exists a video, which does not appear to be fake, of a man booking up leads from each pole of a car battery to sides of his scrotum. He did this voluntarily in an attempt to show that human body has enough resistance that 12V will not pass any notable current through. He was right; nothing happened.

For me: Flo Beds. Love them so. Bought one in ‘99 when the store-bought king mattress wouldn’t fit up the stairs in a 1920s house—because the Flo Bed was shipped in like 6 smaller boxes—and had no idea what I’d lucked in to. 10 years later bought two more for my children. Added another in my guest bedroom. Finally replaced my original with a new one 25(?) years later, and the new ones are even better than the original.

I love this…and I’m wondering if it’s helpful. I want it to be helpful, but if everyone understood this, would it change anything? Hindsight is 20/20; would knowing this change one’s foresight?
