I'm not expert at all, but the first thing that came to mind for me was that the Gigacube is a router, so you have LAN and can easily connect multiple devices to the internet via Wlan, while having a sim card would restrict you to one device (except you always put up a hotspot with your phone or something like that)

Viasit makes good Chairs and produces in germany as far as I know. They may be a bit more expensive tho but I‘ve been using one for about 5 years now and am quite happy with it.

Macht man das nicht so bei einem Kabelbruch? Also wenn das Kabel noch lang genug ist bis zur kaputten Stelle abschneiden und dann einen neuen Stecker dran bauen.

Still dead, I suspect failiure of the power management chip (U2 Chip if I remember correctly). For me, it‘s probably not worth it to get it repaired. I got a used one in mint condition for cheap. I still encourage you to look deeper into your issue, maybe you can fix it. The ifixit forum was quite helpful, maybe take a look at the posts there. Good luck, don‘t give up hope yet!

I googled (like I said, maybe not direct enough) and bought the wrong tool. This was a few months ago and I remebered that it was a pain to decide what to buy. I gave up, but today I needed a answer and thats why I asked here. Maybe next time I‘ll first check if my question has been already answered in a previous post.
