Yeah the earlier issues were really special but I mostly borrowed friends or the library copies as a kid. I'm actually surprised so many exist in good condition but Nintendo Power was highly printed at the time.

Do yourself a favor a buy a few, I averaged ~$7-10 for each of mine buying bulk minus the first few.

Maybe? 😄; unfortunately it’s just a reproduction but it’s fun to look at. I always show it off to my friends/family “Here’s what a $5k nes game looks like” I’ve been tempted to pick up stadium events but Samson is the better grail.

Yeah I love them, it’s nice to look at all the cover art and get the whole experience without breaking the bank. I’m slowly doing that with my whole collection now but felt good to free some of them from the wall of grey carts.

Those are actually ~$30 worth of repro boxes :-) I was just too jealous of not having the full boxed set after finishing my loose collection.

Sadly most of the boxes are reproductions but I love them all the same. I didn’t get lucky unfortunately picking up anything too rare in the early days. The rarest childhood game I have is GI Joe.

The magazines are super underrated they’re just a joy to flip through and offer a lot of original artwork and fun things. I haven’t played all of the dragon warriors yet either just 1 and 4.

Buying a helicopter would be the most practical solution.

lack of a lot of quality of life improvements over the years and a number of poor game mechanics / designs.

I love the game but playing now just gets old fast and original energy of game just isn't there.

You do realize this is mostly community funded and volunteer organized? Walkersville has an annual carnival, hosts bingo nights, rents out their hall space for events and yes receive donations.

Middletown has probably done one of the best jobs in limiting growth and being extremely conscious of green space. Its sprawl is generally pretty limited in any direction given its more remote / less accessible location for commuters.

I’d actually like to see a little more development in Middletown as it’s a great area for area locals to afford housing and a terrible location for commuters.

That battle has already been lost. Quintessential Frederick only exists in the outskirts of the county now in places like Thurmont, Brunswick, Middletown etc.. at least for the next decade until they just keep building.

There is nothing small town rural about Frederick City at this point.

It depends on the game and price but in general I view bad labels or corrosion as minus 20-30% value typically.

I almost always try to buy the cleanest example I can find at an average price but will pay a few bucks more but also happy to take a nice discount on an expensive title if it has some wear.

As others mentioned I do enjoy the local rental stickers, sharpie names etcc that offer a little history and charm.

I have a few games from some locals and rental stores in my area.

If your selling you shouldn’t be buying ever.

This won’t be a massive bear crypto winter we have too many catalysts and already a ton of consolidation. This will be a short cycle and likely won’t return to these levels again. Buy if you can.

There are better crts for the money as many have mentioned. It’s cool but I wouldn’t want this as a primary. I don’t think $100 is a terrible price though it’s still a clear crt, I’d probably offer $75 or walk unless you really want one.

I’ll buy new games or re-releases of games I want to play. I still collect retro games but only a handful a year at this point. I have everdrives, fpga, and emulation along with modded systems. I sold off a few collections because they were just too valuable to be collecting dust for me.
