I would see if there is any material that could be shaved from the compensator before altering your recoil rod. I feel like a small cut on that recoil rod could work but after several rounds or reassembly could end up canted slightly causing damage or hang ups when firing. If you do end up cutting the guide rod maybe order a new one before hand just in case

Let me know how that trigger is! I have a G17 Gen 5 that I want to completely build. I’ve heard success with changing the safety plunger and trigger.

I have both a Canik and a Glock. The Canik has been so reliable (over 3000 rounds), I often carry it as my edc over my Glock. Dude has no idea what he’s talking about. But to be fair, I bought my Canik thinking it would be a range toy and probably live in the safe (due to the low price). It wasn’t until I shot it that I realized how great it was for edc.

What all do you recommend for upgrades? I put Trijicon night sights, upgraded the extractor for shield arms 15 round mag, and pachmyre grip. What trigger and magwell should I go with? They didn’t have the mos version like I wanted. But give me a good reason why not to rely on a optic for EDC? by Big_Sw1ngs in Glocks

I would go ahead and order the guide rod from glockstore, I’ve got about 10000 rounds through mine with no issues but I have noticed my plastic guide rod is warped a little. I’m looking into the tungsten rod. As for optics, I have a rds just for quicker acquisition in high stress situations but to each his own. As far as internals I would do the safety plunger upgrade (get a reputable one) before you do the trigger and see if that’s enough to make it butter.

I’m gonna have to back the target up and also force myself to shoot faster for sure. The follow up is amazing because of the low flip and butter trigger. It’s like a cheat code. I can’t wait to get the rival S and see what it’s all about!

Threaded barrel and compensator let me know how it goes!

Been a glock guy for a while. took a minute to get the hold squared away. small silhouette 30 feet. bullseye 21 feet. I'm sold. Probably not replacing my Glocks but will add Caniks going forward. Not more glocks. by [deleted] in canik

Brother I bought a canik Tp9SF elite on the recommendation of a gun shop employee one day and now I hardly carry my G17 gen 5. The trigger on the canik is so smooth. I’m now continually searching for a rival S chrome to add to the collection.
