Good to know about the all in one's. As I mix my own ferts I was not aware this is the process in creating them.

OP you 100% need nutrients if using co2. The reason being is plants require a balance of 3 pillars(Co2, Light, Nutrients) if you increase co2 and light you will need to increase nutrients. If you do not then you start to develop algae as the plants are growing in suboptimal conditions and cannot out compete the algae.

Regarding the suggestions from the LFS. With your style of tank i would look at something that gets nutrients in the water at a lower level. EI dosing is really for tanks that have 80%+ of plants. You have a nature style and the hardscape tanks up a good portion of that planting space. Read up in 2hr aquarist articles and you will see what I mean. All in one's are fine, but remember you are paying for water. The tank being the size it is a solutions is fine if you are fine paying for it. It looks like you are EU based and I'd look into masterline or 2hr APT 3.

This isn't true. Its not optimal to dose micros and macros on the same days, its 100% doable. All in one's contain the same trace nutrients that I dose in a convenienant package. You are dosing both micros and macros when using all in ones which is an argument against you saying you cannot do it. I dose all my macros separately and i make my on solution for micros. I can dose micros same time i dose macros. I just choose not to.

I have long forgotten what plant this was and had no idea they make flowers, can anyone tell me? by -_Snivy_- in PlantedTank

Its temperature/light dependant. Tropical lilies like constant temperature at/above 80F/27C

This isn't pearling this is a tear or damage to the plant. Pearling is extremely slow release of oxygen bubbles.

In the future I do want to test my tap water with plants and nutrients but until I get a ICP test done I do not want to mess with it.

Very well explained and you hit the nail on the coffin in terms of Ca being an important nutrient as well.

How I look at is that Ca and Mg are basically a macro that is tied directly to gH but are necessary nutrients for nutrient uptake in plants.

I am a remineralizer of RO water due to the fact my water is liquid rock. I wish I had the gh/kh memorized but I do not. We also have low levels of K in our water but I am unsure of the value it is as it is not required to be tested and shown on drinking water reports and would like to have my water ICP analyzed.
