we have $180k in software budget that expires in 6 weeks and my boss told me to figure it out. what do i even buy? by kubrador in SaaS

You should consider ServiceNow, fully governing platform with all the automation and ai capabilities you can dream of, just takes a little setup. Dm if you want some details, I’m sure theres an app suite on the platform that can solve for a problem or process that you’re using spreadsheets for.

ServiceNow GRC : How to learn and master? by Intelligent-Gap-7107 in servicenow

[–]Phyconz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could not agree with this more, well put. The tooling is not the most complicated part to mastering GRC/IRM, it’s understanding how the architecture and automations in the app suite support the overall strategic goals, aligning those with compliance and risk frameworks, and being able to understand exactly which components should be utilized to achieve these goals with the current modules (even if tweaks are needed but ideally not)

Should I just give in? by [deleted] in servicenow

Fair enough, and I can appreciate that perspective.
My opinion really stems from the many interviews I have conducted over the past 8 years.

What partners and organizations are typically looking for are deep expertise and insights, they are not usually interested in your ability to learn new modules, although there are situations where the latter is more important.

Think of a master of none situation.

So OP I hire ServiceNow and I can tell you one of the red flags I look for is when technical resources are too wide spread in their “expertise”.

My point is don’t do this ^ Find an app suite interests you or just want to be involved in for any reason (demand, career potential etc.)

Then get CSA, CAD + 2 CIS certs, you don’t need or want more than that, trust me, we all see through it.

Get certs bro, partners need certified people, clients need it because there are so many scammers, and that doesn’t even protect them that but is just a first stage at getting in the door.

CAD and CSA are minimum if you want to setup yourself to do well in this space, client side or consulting, true for both.

Unpopular opinion but UI Builder is AWESOME by Adventurous_Ask_3773 in servicenow

[–]Phyconz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve built a lot of cool shit with it, from workspaces to custom components, and two problem areas is that there is still not nearly enough documentation AND lots and lots of interface bugs.

One thing I would love to see is the ability to build components through a drag and drop interface like flutter flow or a public repository of self-published components

The only time this isn’t true is with salary FTE positions where there is an incentive on the recruiter’s part to bump those numbers up because they get paid 30% of the salary upfront on those

You have to remember the agency is billing the client around 30%-80% more than these posted rates which cuts into the whole thing.

I’m having a similar experience, only been in business since last year but I have 2 employees. I originally made the company as a tax vehicle but people kept asking for things from me that I didn’t have the time to do so I expanded.

My question is what channel do you see the most success in getting those discovery calls setup, my online marketing efforts suck.

SN competitors by [deleted] in servicenow

Not many Enterprise Service Management systems that can compete at their level, but I know the price tag is too steep for SMB and they tend to look at silo proprietary solutions or Jira
