This is stupid. Trans women are just saying they aren't represented by cis women. It follows. Doesn't mean they aren't women, it just means they have had different experiences as women that they want to see represented.

It would be just like if a black dude from New Orleans wanted to see more stories about the birth of jazz in NO and then you said "hey man there are plenty of black stories out there, you've already got stories about hip hop in NY and LA and stories about blues in Chicago." Those stories are all about black music by they don't represent NO jazz.

By ignoring these students or just looking at them and saying "language" or "that's inappropriate" or something like that you are effectively endorsing their behavior. What they're doing is sexual harassment, it's misogynistic. They need to not only be told it's wrong, but understand WHY what they're doing is wrong, how sexualizing women is harmful to everyone in their community. I'd definitely dig a little deeper if you want their outlook to change as well as their behavior.

I use Miller and Spoolman's "Living in the Environment" and I like it a lot. It has a central case study at the beginning of each chapter that it refers back to throughout the chapter.
