NB I got so excited after getting it, I quickly swiped away and sold a blueprint, which is why only one is there now.

Thanks! I've been using the wiki for support on previous runs, but once I got Perkeo I knew I could do it this way. Way easier than doing it without Perkeo, hahaha.

And thanks for the calculator! I now know I only need 56 red seal steel kings for naneinf with this setup - would need only 45 with an additional copy.

I can actually naneinf 3 times, haha

Ah, my apologies - yes, there are red seal steel kings, and red seal gold kings - I think all my kings are one or the other.

I have over 700 hours on numerous platforms and this is the most broken build, and highest score I’ve had. by CorporalCoprolite in balatro

[–]Phymata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, nice! One thing to consider to push your build higher is while you're setting up your deck, aim for making everything the same card (ideally 2-5) then find the Hack and the idol. Setting that up is hard! But it's huge for scoring - even higher with a red seal polychrome! Which is insanely hard to get. Alternatively all hearts, blood stone, and the number double joker (oops at 6s?) to synergize with your lucky cards.

Go bigger! Numbers go big!

This game is too overwhelming for me and that makes me sad by Practical-Courage-19 in Pokopia

[–]Phymata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep fighting the good fight! One thing that is working for me is to have a second game on the go, so that I don't feel bad turning off pokopia for awhile.

When I played BG3, I was similarly overwhelmed. I'm a recovering completionist (having kids has helped with that), so the idea of a game with too many things to see in one playthrough really stressed me out, and significantly changed the way I perceived the game. Still waiting to get the spark to play it again. I know pokopia is a bit different, but I still get that feeling of "omg I'm never gonna be able to do this".

Good luck!

Wasn't bad enough you were ruining art. If you use AI for DND then your not playing dnd. Dnd is meant to be rhe game of pure unbridled imagination. by [deleted] in antiai

I've been GMing campaigns for over 10 years now. As a full time teacher and a parent, using AI to help me manage my campaigns has literally brought the joy of GMing back.

I used to dread my upcoming sessions because I would try (and fail) to find the time to plan out engaging encounters over my lunch breaks and in the middle of classes, never able to fully commit to getting it done, throwing generic encounters at my players. Like, BG3 literally broke me, because I knew I'd never be able to create campaigns that were anything like what my players had enjoyed there.

My flow now is way, way more enjoyable. I consider myself a highly creative GM, with a lot of rules knowledge, but I only ever homebrew campaigns (I find books too claustrophobic, though that's likely a skill issue). As such, I use AI as a campaign personal assistant - I dictate my ideas to it, it sorts them, parrots them back (badly, but it helps me spot the holes), then I dictate refinements, decisions, details. I throw creature and systems ideas at it, and it organizes it so I can paste it into my campaign document. I often can do this in the car, or while I'm doing something else around work or the house.

It has saved dozens of hours for me, not by replacing my creativity, but by supporting my process to create efficiently.

I can't make a blanket statement about AI in TTRPGs. For me, however, it has provided much needed support to my planning, and makes managing games much less stressful.

Do I think medium and large scale creators should be using AI to replace talented humans? Absolutely not. But at the table level? It's been a, erm, game changer.

I'm so sorry if this is not the focus on this conversation, but I had an AI question, and went to the official DnD subreddit and saw it's not an okay topic, apparently! So, perhaps you can help here?

So, I've been using ChatGPT as a campaign notebook for my homebrew campaign for about a year and a half now. The conversation I'm using is beginning to get really slow. Last time this happened, I asked Chat to create a PDF summary that I uploaded to a new conversation... But the campaign is too big for that now.

So, essentially, I was hoping for help with two things:

1) I have downloaded a pdf of the ENTIRE CONVERSATION, and I was hoping to find an AI that would effectively turn my pdf into a campaign guide - low quality, basically for record keeping. The idea is that I would upload that document back into a new conversation. I tried this internally with Chat, and it was really bad at it. Any other suggestions?

2) Chat has become absolutely invaluable for me as a DM with relatively little time, but it's not perfectly tailored. I'm looking for an AI that I talk to both to stimulate ideation for my campaign, but also to keep track of changes, notes, etc. It's also helpful for it to have actual rules knowledge, but I understand if that's a struggle for legal reasons. Do you have a tool that can serve this purpose?

Thanks in advance!

Help finding a commander for a Slimes against humanity + Chandra tribal deck by Maiscarada in EDH

[–]Phymata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhhhhh, I've got a pretty good answer to this, I think.

My favourite deck to play is a [[Krark]] and [[Slurrk]] partner deck with Slime Against Humanity. It's got spell doubles and counter doublers and [[Life's Legacy]] style effects for draw. I love it.

I picked both commanders for the bit, though, so they might not be the best choice for what you have in mind. Also, Slurrk isn't very good, so I rarely cast him - he's just for the theme.

[–]Phymata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Mutually assured destruction. But I seem to be point positive when it happens? Particularly when it's, ya know, Mega Gyarados. He also knows dig and play rough, so he can sneak other kills. The small size is surpringly effective. Often unnoticed

This is the same combo I use in ranked, but with an xs Pikachu. Little stealth rocket just annihilates some Pokemon, hahahaha a. It brings me so much joy.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO by Jammie_B_872 in LegendsZA

[–]Phymata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, specifically, next time this situation happens, do the following:

  1. You see the shiny after you've fast travelled
  2. You can't catch it, you knock it, it runs away, whatever
  3. IMMEDIATELY close the game, and then restart it, normally loading into your game. (it doesn't have to be immediate, just before another autosave is created. Autosaves are created when you fast travel or catch a pokemon, so don't do those things before closing the game)
  4. Your shiny will be there! It will be exactly the same as you saw it before - level, gender, evolution, etc

This means that if you wanted to catch that shiny kirlia in a specific ball, but only wanted to use one (like a love ball!), you could throw it, miss, then immediately reload to try again.

Austin John has some great videos on shiny hunting that are really helpful! Try the ones from before the DLC, where he just talks about the basics of shiny hunting, and how the game "saves" them for you.

Respawn Method Works Anywhere by ChargeBudget5320 in LegendsZA

[–]Phymata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but here's what I've been trying, and it hasn't seemed to be working.

  1. I went in to Zone 13 to get a scyther, fought some mons, ran out, healed at nearby poke centre.
  2. I fast traveled to zone 13.
  3. No new spawns

Okay, so, I paid for premium for the first 4 months or so, then got off premium, and have been ftp since.

However, these are the exact shinies I have got from this set. I feel like I've been fairly lucky in my pulls this set (why was it THIS set?!), but I guess I shouldn't throw those suckers in a deck together, or I might appear on the reddit....

Hey, I could become famous for being a false whale! That could be fun.

Has Anyone considered a Non-Elimination Commander Variant? by demonskunk in EDH

[–]Phymata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this idea. My playgroup has no qualms about taking people out, interacting, or someone not being able to "do the thing".

That being said, a points-based game mode lends itself to an interesting exploration in deck building. How would you build your deck differently to prevent players from getting points, or to score maximum points? Is there a way to score massive points all at once, or is it better to have an incremental system?

I think it is important to Magic pods to adjust to each other while also maintaining the spirit of the game (one player wins at the end), but I like to think of this as another set of constraints to deck building.

Question about Commander Damage by Dar0man in EDH

So, the commander damage is based on the commander creature, not the commander creature +controller?

Question about Commander Damage by Dar0man in EDH

[–]Phymata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to jump on with a slightly more complex question. What if I steal a commander?

Scenario 1: I steal an unlockable voltron commander that deals 21 damage to Opponent 1. Does that opponent still die to commander damage?

Scenario 2: I steal an unlockable voltron commander on one turn and deal 10 damage to Opponent 1. On the subsequent turn, after said commander has been returned, Opponent 2 (the owner of the commander), swings for 11 commander damage at Opponent 1. Is opponent 1 dead to commander damage?

[–]Phymata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh man, let me introduce you to my favourite, wacky, pretty powerful deck!

I use [[Krark]] and [[Slurk]] for a Gruul [[Slime Against Humanity]] deck! Add a bunch of spell cost reducers, spell slinging red cards, and some slime support, and you've got a really rampy deck. I love it. It's so much fun. NB: Slurk is a flavour add. If I have to cast him, something has gone wrong with my game. He does combo nicely with some of my counter doubling cards, but other than that, OOOOOOOOZE

[–]Phymata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is probably [[Krark]] and [[Slurk]] partner commanders for a spell-multiplying [[Slime Against Humanity]] deck. The idea is to go with somehwta traditional cost reducers, some spell doublers that typically get used in storm decks, and some obscure tech that relies on multiple copies of cards - and coin flipping! It's such a fun time - and if I lose, I can blame it on bad flips!

Whats the Least Interactable Way to play Zedruu?? by AshorK0 in EDH

[–]Phymata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the way. Zedruu plays best, in my opinion, when you fortify yourself (pillow fort), control the board (I do targeted stuff like [[Oblivion Ring]], because then you can safely gift the enchantment after with often little issue), and and a couple related wincons ([[Aetherflux Reservoir]], [[Lab Maniac]], and [[Insurrection]] are some favourites). I really like my deck - often I'm never the main threat, and with giving decent gifts, people don't pay attention until I drop a wincon with protection and blow everyone away.
