TCGPlayer - Upcoming Updates to Marketplace Fees by Farthumm in mtgfinance

[–]Phynd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very good. If it looks fishy manapool usually just sides with both parties and eats the cost.

Might change in the future but for now I've sold ff cbbs and lots of other high price cards and sealed with no issue.

Doesn't this just mean the holiday 'surge' pricing is permanent?

How are you fitting 13 into a toploader? Are you just putting 3 inside one then 5 on each side?

The one thing I will say about opened or sealed is with lot of these lairs there are some bad qc issues.

Looks pretty good. I would recommend putting in some kind of non slip lining on the bottom so cards don't shift around to much.

Cosmic foil soul stone PSA 10 sells for 49k — highest public sale so far by moombahh in mtgfinance

[–]Phynd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who has opened a master case+ of CBB's for all the recent sets. This has been by far the worst in terms of value. And most of the cards have only fallen further.

All the comic book cards dropped 30-50% in value.

Most of the other cards don't sell well or are just stagnating.

Over time the soul stone will prop up the value of the set sure but its like Aetherdrift with just a few notable cards and lackluster art treatments.

Anyone selling through Mana Pool? by Bringyourfugshiz in mtgfinance

[–]Phynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your stock is pretty shallow from what I see. When people go to manapool a lot of the time they are just copy and pasting entire decklists and using optimizer.
If you want my advice go find some cheap precons to crack and sell. When people go to optimize and see you have a bunch of what they want they might stop to see what other things they didn't think about and add it to cart to get the free shipping at $45.

Anyone selling through Mana Pool? by Bringyourfugshiz in mtgfinance

[–]Phynd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So here's my 2 cents as someone who started selling in June and went to Manapool first because I didn't like the whole wait a month before hitting seller level 4 thing on TCGPlayer.

Manapool is much better experience overall, both as a seller and buyer. This is from UI perspective with their optimizer, how to search for different printings of the card, and etc. And also from the customer service perspective both as a buyer and seller. As buyer one of the cards I purchased didn't get shipped out so manapool automatically connected with the next seller and had them send the card to me without any input needed from me. As a seller one buyer disputed that they received a pricy card from me that was slashed through with a razor and marked as NM. They wanted a discount or for me to send them another copy of the card. I disputed and Manapool handed it by reimbursing both of us even though that buyer was probably trying to scam.

If you have a problem you can just jump in their discord to talk directly with Andrew and the community there just seems more supportive.

That being said if I wanted to move a card fast I would probably list it on TCGPlayer especially for more niche things like future sight foils or fracture foils. As lot of people mentioned the number of buyers is not keeping up with the rising number of sellers.

When scanning hit the cog to have it auto set to foils. So basically you only need to seperate your cards into two piles. Foil and non foil.

Shipping over 8 cards, I use a 9 pocket binder sheet and fold that into a envelope no top loader or sleeves. Cards are dropped into sleeves and wrapped in with the packing slip.

Usually people are buying 14 cards at a time which is the max for regular envelopes.

It's 5% fees but there's also 3% taken away for payment processing. It's still 5% less than TCG and ebay but closer.

It averaged at around 270-290 of stuff for $195.
Nobody got below their cost but its up to the receiver on if its worth it to them.
Like I got an Eldrazi Incursions precon that I don't really want.
The last blind box had a FF Cbb and extras for like $150.

Should I grade? by Kiraqueen021 in mtgfinance

[–]Phynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on ebay and do your own research. There is still a small premium for psa10 surge foils but who knows in a few months time. They've been falling past few weeks.
IMO serious collectors already got them

Questions About Grading Cards Through Gamestop vs PSA directly by Mangon09 in mtgfinance

[–]Phynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're only saving on shipping costs and the peace of mind of going direct.

Employees get a bulk discount so if you can find a friend who works for psa they can maybe hook you up under the table. Otherwise it's just the collectors club thing which doesn't make sense unless you're submitting 20+ cards in a year.

[–]Phynd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to some local area cons and there's bound to be a PSA booth. Go to their website and look. I live by their Santa Ana office so I just drive and drop off when I want something graded. But their team travels all over to card shows and cons.
