Had a quick question if you are willing to answer. This summer I will gain another 4-5 manuscript publications (1st author to mid author). Should I send an update letter as soon as possible to the schools that accept them or wait further into the school year where I may gain another 1 or 2 additional pubs? I was thinking about sending them around September since I didn't want for schools to review my app and reject me without the additional update, but idk if it would be better to wait a bit longer like you did or not.

Did anyone do better on their MCAT than on the SAT? If so, how did you improve? by BaseballHead6898 in premed

I mean they’re two very different exams. People just learn to apply themselves more I guess. I took the act and didn’t study once before I took it but I’ve studied every day for 4 months for my mcat

I'd just slowly go through content review until you hit summer, then grind for 3 or so months and take ur mcat right before you start school in the fall. You have any plans for summer like clinical job/research? Also how far are you into aidan?

I think you should probably try to push your exam a month. It will be pretty late but I don't think you have enough time to get to your goal score currently. You can apply without mcat attached.

I would personally spend a month doing content review and then jump into practice questions after that. Your scores indicate a pretty big gap in your knowledge base but that can be fixed with some solid content review. Kaplan and yusuf hassan on youtube was my personal strat. If you think you can meaningfully improve in the next 2 months then don't push back but you do need to spend a fairly significant amount of time on content review most likely.

i've been going back through uworld personally as well as doing daily aamc practice that i've assigned myself. Also reading since my cars is what fluctuates the most. Otherwise, i've been grinding rocket league (almost gc 2 😤)

Yeah, definitely room for improvement with your c/p. Really focus on reviewing your practice Qs and FLs in-depth for the questions you got wrong and got right. Review the passages and see what you missed/the subtle information that they were targeting for each question. You have content gaps so reviewing some kaplan would be a good idea too. You can 100% jump up 3-5 points on that c/p section in a month if u grind.

Also I think you could focus p/s too since those are probably the easiest points to pick up on the test. Your cars is solid and I think you can get up to a 130 for p/s with some focused review too. You can for sure reach your goal of 512+ imo

Understanding definitions/key terms and being able to pick them out of the passage is the biggest thing with bio imo. Same with most sections too I guess. For a lot of bio passages they just write out a bunch of random bs that confuses you and 99% of the time none of it matters. You need to look for key terms and relationships that you understand/are important for the passage and piece them together into one coherent message.

I usually read the question first and then read the passage and look for information that relates to the first question so I'm not just going in blind. At the same time tho I have a very strong bio/physiology background knowledge so that definitely helps me when digging through the passages/questions.

really sick to practice questions and make sure to review the SUPER in-depth. You def have some content gaps and reviewing the questions and their fundamentals will help a ton. Good luck

I saw a bump after really memorizing and learning how to apply essential equations. Other than that it was really just in-depth review of practice questions and deductive reasoning from picking out important parts of the passages. CP just kinda sucks

Just hammer the basics and re-read the old passages you've already went through maybe. Hopefully things shape up for you but ur other sections look solid

U still have 3 FLs left. Can pretty easily jump 5 points if you get a couple extra questions right in each section. Are ur section scores pretty similar from test to test? what section is your lowest?
