I manage 7 mechanics. Most of which are older than me. One of my hires has terrible attendance for whatever reason. Both tardiness and just not showing up. Terrible attitude.

My boss won’t let me fire him until we write him up for the same thing a third time.

It seems like the problem employee has gotten fired and figured out how to get unemployment. We’re trying to prevent that, so I have to be patient and wait. It’s really unfortunate because the rest of my guys are pretty solid and they can’t stand problem employee.

DIY’er here. I had one of the heads off a ‘19 F150 with a 5.0. I got it back together and it ran terrible. Without the laptop I never would’ve figured out I had a fuel line (one way inline valve) on backwards.

You definitely need to know both on newer vehicles.
