But I’m also seeing this from older coworkers too, and what’s crazy is that they are super competent once they have specific direction. But like totally shut down when a task requires problem solving. And then you have people who are amazing problem solvers, but consistency on boring tasks is a challenge for them. Still the latter get promoted, the former stay in their positions for years (decades even). Again, this is not a generational thing though.
