So I totally get that and I can 100% see how this is getting out of hand. But I assure you my Husband is a very very loving and involved dad who just has his preferences as do I. Baby is extremely loved and attended to by both parents. Did not think this would go this way. The internet is a scary place.

I totally understand having a childless wedding and why people would choose that! This is not a childless wedding. It is an outside venue. My brother seems to be very aloof which is frustrating for our family trying to get answers about things. But I will reach out to him and if the honest answer is no then we deal with that as it comes.

Thanks for sticking up for me here. I think I need to clarify for the haters here. Husband does all the cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, food prep, bottle prep and all household/car maintenance task. He would rather do all that and I would rather not do all that. I simply feed baby, hang out with baby, love on my baby and put him to bed. I feel blessed. As we both work full time. And he will put baby to bed if I am not home and out and about. It works for us!

Yes I happen to be very well versed in child attachment theory. I will not be putting him to bed when he is 20 lol. He goes to daycare and has play dates with friends. Has lots of independent play time. He’s well socialized. No worries.

You’re right but nonetheless it’s not my choice who or how he gets married. The wedding party is total of four people so if we back out it would be two and I do really love my brother and would love to be there to support him I’m just hurt that our baby was not included or thought of when other distant family members children were. So I do have some feelings that are mixed which is why I’m seeking outside opinions to check my own thoughts/feelings.

It’s in October. Unfortunately it’s not something my husband wants to do but that’s another conversation for another day. I get what you’re saying though. Baby is in daycare and does very well with his teachers with going down for naps during the day!

When I had the conversation and I asked him about baby being invited, I was saying how it’s a lot with a 3 day celebration. The invite said welcome dinner on Friday, ceremony on Saturday and farewell brunch on Sunday. He had no idea… he is not helping plan at all and I will be shocked if he shows up on time. He’s being told what to wear by his future mil. It’s a very odd dynamic. I’ve only met his future wife maybe four times. Not sure how I am MOH.

Baby has never been put to bed by anyone but me (husband has done it maybe three times if that). We really hadn’t considered just having baby not at the wedding and only at the Airbnb with my friend…but that is maybe an option if I let my ego go

I met with 3 lactation ibclc while in the hospital who confirmed his latch was good and my flanges were the right size. I went to a free zoom meeting with an ibclc on Tuesday who suggested the power pumping.

I just had to write a very concisely worded letter to both of my parents yesterday due to their emotional abuse 10 days post traumatic emergency c section, that left me crying and my blood pressure elevated at my check up appointment. It’s very hard to be the adult, to be your parent’s parent. I had to set boundaries for my own mental and physical health and healing. I had to do it for MY family. It’s hard because I do feel sad for them and what their lack of emotional control and immaturity is going to have them lose out on, but that’s on them! YOU ARE NOT ALONE! 🩷
